These are fantastic amps in their own right I have a TVP15 watt for home practice and TVP260 for gigging I also have regularly gigged my Katana 100 and Marshall DSL 40CR and as much as I love all 3 amps I really find the TVP most usable ...... especially when clean tones are equally important as the gain tones and a bonus on top is the tuner built into the foot switch

Update: Got my ID 100 head. Running it through a full stack. A Bugera straight cab and a Laney slanted cab on top of it. All I have to say is wow. It sounds absolutely massive. Even at low volumes. Being in 2 rock cover bands this amp is a dream. All of the hype about this amp is all true. My tube amp is out the door. Lol

I'm actually in the market for a new stage amp at the minute and searched KZbin for a decent review of this particular amp. Lots of heavy metal and shred reviews which tell you nothing at all about the bloody amp. Then I came across this review; spot on! Excellent playing from Steve Marks and a great way of getting across the amp's capabilities by referencing various chords and licks that then indicate to me exactly what amp type he is emulating. Tells me exactly what I want to know about the amplifier's capabilities. Thanks Steve.

Great demo!! I have a ID:60TVP which I've had for about a year but I'm still discovering the almost endless possibilities of the amp. Great with or without pedals in front, and this video helps even more :-)

I love the idea and concepts with this Amp . Blackstar has quickly become my favorite amplification company . I do think that I will wait for the V2 of this technology so the output to the speakers (in volume) doesn't depend on the ohms (or at least 8 ohm instead of 4 ohm) . I don't run a 4x12 . I received this note from Blackstar . - As a matter of fact it is perfectly safe to use any speaker cabinet rated between 4 - 16 Ohms. The 4 Ohm marking relates to the 'minimum' load the amp will accept. As it is a solid state power section it works somewhat differently to valve power sections. In general you get full power at 4 Ohms, aorund two thirds power at 8 Ohms and around a third of the power at 16 Ohms.

ramarazzz Sounds like your amp is still in demo mode. To exit demo mode, hold down the Manual button while turning the amp on. You need to hold the manual button while the bank led cycles through 3 colours, then turns off.

Wish I had known The ID:Core series didn't offer the TVP option !! It was not clearly stated to me!! The patch function was pushed out front but they didn't mention no amp modeling would be available with that Series . I like the amp a lot very good amp but they really should offer a software upgrade offering at least 3 or 4 TVP voices to people like me who feel cheated . The whole patch concept really doesn't work as well without the TVP aspect of the amp . BUYER BEWARE . Im not sure if I will buy BlackStar again because of this and I really like the amp but didn't get what I was lead to believe !!!

100W Head with a 16 ohm Cabinet is about 35W or so (valve loud) . It is more than enough at most pubs or wedding halls . 8 ohm cabinet will give you about 66W (valve loud) and a 4 ohm Cab will give you a 100W (valve loud) . Overall , it's an impressive amp . Kudos to Blackstar ! Blues On .

Superb Demo, Love the Blackstar motto " The Sound in your head" as this really does seem to have every sound ive ever dreamt of, so much so ive just ordered the ID 100 TVP, I often wondered when it would be when the ultimate every tone, feel amp would come out, £10 bet that theyll do one with valves next - time will tell, but what a fab & exciting time it is to play guitar - Bye Bye to my Marshall JCM200 sorry Marshall, but you really should be on to this and be quick before someone else does

Great Demo! Very thorough and well illustrated! Im kinda torn between a PV Classic 30 and the ID:30/60 Combo. Only because this Foot Controller looks quite intimidating to an old 60s/70s Guy. The manual is pretty Vague. Being a lead singing player , I GOTTA have presets on the fly.Cant find ANY ID foot switching demos anywhere!!!. If anyone knows of a link, PLEASE post it. Thanks.

Great and promissing demo. But my concerne is how keeps up in a band setting? For example: i've had a Fender Hot rod deluxe 3 which sounded great at home but absolutely didn't deliver in rehearsals... And i meant not only volume but also 'headroom'!

Nice review, what speaker cabinet did you use ? I've got the TDP:15 couple a days ago and I think the speaker in it is to "boomy" escpecially when using clean channels. Seems like there is an unwanted resonance starting between low B and up to low D on the 5 & 6 string. I can't here this on this video. I'm using a Gibson Midtown Custom. I tried to remove the back of the amp but that didn't help much to the sound. Maybe change the speaker to a Jensen 10" or like. What you think ?
@ecsrvjh

Nice sound but only at low volume effects get muddy when you raise the volume took on stage last night and after a few songs into first set I had to ditch the amps effects and push a clean patch with my Boss me-70 huge mistake buying this amp for gigging $600 for a clean channel I could've just dished out $179 at guitar center for an Acoustic 2x12 budget combo

That really depends on taste, it is totally subjective. I think most of the pickups that come in lower end Epiphones are terrible, and I don't care for them in most any amp. But, that is me! I've heard some great epis, and if they sound good on one amp, they'll sound good on a versatile amp like this.

That's true of a lot of low end guitars though. When you get into the higher priced Epi's,( Standard,Custom etc.) with the Alnico Classic or Probucker pickups, you get better tone. The best Epi Les pauls I've tried are the 2013 Prophecy Ex/ Gx. I love my Ultra 2, but really want an Prophecy for heavier stuff. Go to $400 and up, and they usually sound good.

Hey guys! Can anybody help me, please, I have contacted Official Blackstar website (with no answer), I watched all Official and unofficial reviews, but still I have problems with saving my sound settings on the Blackstar ID(30) series. I change the sound settings on the control panel, then I hold one of the channel buttons button (so the channel buttons start to blink), then I choose on wich bank and channel I would like to save that specific sound, and then I hold the manual button so everything shuts down, only the recoil light turns green. Now here is the problem, when I shut it down, the next day none of the sounds are saved and I need you to tell me what am I doing wrong? Must I click the manual button, before I change my settings? Thank you in advance! Tilen
@AndrewRyan716
@AndrewRyan716 9 жыл бұрын
Tilen Sušnik Is the amplifier still in demo mode? It is possible that this is issue. Try holding the "manual" button down while powering up the amp (the bank LED should go from red, to orange, to green and then turn off). This might help if you haven't already solved your problem.

I get conflicting input about these amps. Some long time valve guys say it is close, but it is not quite there. Others say it is there and have sold their valve gear. My problem is I have no experience of playing valve amps. All I know is I love good clean tones and have heard other players get them with a valve amp...Dilema...not sure what to do...

Think of it this way. You need 10x the power to double the volume of an amp. So a 100w amp is only twice as loud as a 10w amp. I have one and run it through an Avatar 2x12 live and it's plenty
@EvilMP5
@EvilMP5 9 жыл бұрын
It depends on the size of the venue and natural acoustics of the venue play a significant part. I have seen people use the 60w with a signal booster. Because if you run it through the house PA if they have anything worth it a damn it will be loud enough. I play mine through a Orange 212 closed back and it does really good with thrash, nu-metal and old school heavy metal.
