It got these aggressive "smokey hights", like an ENGL POWERBALL 1. Seems also pretty much "percussive" when attacking the strings. Sounds really good.

I realize this is 24, but some of the best sounds growing up in the 80's was a marshall. Listen to Micheal schenkar , old Eddie , that's the tone . I don't hate the new stuff but you can plug in any cheap guitar in and it will sound good . Love gus g. Peace.

Can you run it through a real cab and go through the cab rig at the same time, or does one bypass the other?

You can run both at the same time. You can send out an XLR to FOH and still run to a cab from speaker outputs
