This entire video is so uncomfortable from start to finish. You can see how hard Fatou is trying to keep a strong front despite how clearly upset she is by everything that's happened. After watching this video again and again, I'm disgusted by those apologies. Girl gave us nothing after making such a mess. @@hinkson7512 Basically the Brazilian girls family falsely accused the black girl of bullying their daughter. The black girl (Fatou) got dragged and insulted by the fandom. And the Brazilian girl (Leia) fuelled it by liking comments that were accusing Fatou. In the end, it turned out that not only was she not bullied, she was having a bit of a falling out with the entire group because of stuff she did. Fatou faced tons of racist comments and hate by Leia's fans. When the fans found out that their fave was at fault they tried to sweep everything under the rug and act like since it was a misunderstanding (since their fave was the problem) everything's ok now. They didn't even apologise.

It's so important, we needed subtitles from the start. The apologies were useless without the translation straight from the video and it drove so many fans into denial because they didn't really know what the members were saying. This is one of the things I'm mad at DR Music for: There would have been no misunderstanding AT ALL if they had provided us with subtitles like Adeola Ash just did. All this time, we could understand what they were saying only thanks to the translations of fans in the comments and for me, that's why even after Leia's apologies, many of her fans were in denial and continued to mainly accuse Fatou and the others. This is honestly one of the biggest misktake (or choice?) Dr Music made about this drama.

Something similiar happened to me aka me whining to my mom when I was younger about argument with my friend and she blew it way out of proportion because of her very fiery and borderline narcissistic personality.... I'm here after the documentary. Judy and Youngheun left because of Leia's actions, she not only tried to ruin the whole group, got Fatou to face racist fans and blinded hate for no reason, but these two lost out on their dreams. Do you know how insane that is? Leia really ruined it for them, that was a chance they could have gotten, but Leia's actions and disrespect towards Fatou and her mother/family really broke the dynamic. I can explain a bit about the cultural difference. In Brazil, we are used to being warmer to people in some kind of way. I have foreigner friends that say that the difference is really obvious, and that affects too the way we see somethings. Since we have this different approach to people (we usually hug and kiss people faces, even if we're not friends, we talk really openly about a lot of stuff, people are friendly with strangers in a way it could seem they know each other for years, etc.), when people act a little more cold, in some sort of way, we tend to get hurt. I say this because I have some Korean friends that sometimes do and say things that may not seem like a big deal for them, but for us can be really hurtful. It's not really particular things like words or phrases, but the way they are said or the way some things are done, for an example. like once my friend made a comment on my job that got me really frustrated, but i knew they did not mean that. it's just that in some places some things are not said in the same way. I'm not saying Leia's parents were right about what they did (they weren't. here in Brazil, people usually come public with things like that and it's really different from other countries in that way, people are really open about what's going on most of the time), but I do understand they were concerned in a different way, because not only their daughter is living on the other side of the world (literally, the other side), but in a culture that is the complete opposite of ours and that some things might seem different for us. again, the should not have done the things the way they did, but most of it was by messages sent to a fanbase here in Brazil. they actually looked worried and i think they were scared that Leia was facing bullying (here in Brazil, bullying is really different from other countries) in other country and they could do nothing about it. they were not right, tho. just trying to explain about the culture difference because it can actually seem weird from different perspectives

I know many brazilians who are half this, half that, but still consider themselves to be fully brazilian. Brazil is one of the most mixed countries in the world, so pretty much everyone here is part-something. We have asians, arabs, indigenous, black, white, and everything in between. Still though, Leia's behavior was not very well accepted here. Our culture might be warmer and more welcoming, but shaming people in public is not considered normal at all.

As someone who is in an International Collegue and has a lot of international friends (germany, china, russia, japan, korea, usa and more) i've never had problems for "cultural differences". Of course there are problems but not necessarily because of cultures.They are mostly cultural shocks but not in a bad way that doesn't lead in big problems and mess like this. This mess was produced by the members, or a "specific member" as some say but I won't get into it because that's not what I am talking about. They say that this happens to be a misunderstanding for cultural differences but I don't think it's entirely true tho. They just don't get along and that's it. Not all kpop groups members get along but when it comes to racism and bullying, DR Music has to do something there. They can't just leave it be because fans are annoyed because of this, and this happened months ago but I can't still avoid thinking of this mess everytime I think of this group. It has really affected their reputation but I want the girls to be successful. Btw, sorry, my English is not my first language and I might have some grammar mistakes. Thanks for reading

This. So I was never at an international school,,, but we did have many foreigners from different countries , and just like you said I never encountered to have a problem due to culture differences. I did have some arguments going on with some of my classmates, but it wasn't because of the culture, but rather how a "human being" would behave, for example talking against someone / not having enough respect for the others etc. Because at the end of the day, you don't need to be from a specific culture to act a certain way. It's not like you categorize a certain nationality to this and that behavior, then the next nationality to another behaviour. It doesn't work like that. So if someone couldn't get along with someone, it wasn't because of the culture differences, but because of how the PERSON ITSELF, is like.

This group has just been a mess to be honest. I don't think there's been 2 months where you don't hear any controversy from them. A lot of it is outside factors like how some still don't accept a black person in K-pop and as you can see here, some of it is internal too. Terrible environment in an already shady business. I sometimes wish they'd just disband just to get it over with but I somehow respect them for carrying on, especially Fatou. This couldn't have been easy for her from day 1 but she's still here. And the group has so much potential, close to me was so good. Why is Lela still there? Many groups kick out members who started bullying accusations. We know in Korea they don’t take bullying lightly. The whole group is suffering from this scandal, and fatou is honestly the reason why the group has fans. The label is not treating her fairly. I just now got the time to hear this! I got to say thank you Adeola for spending your hard earned money on translating this! I have to say, I liked Leía a lot. Part of the reason for that was because she’s from South America. Being born in Mexico I never saw K-pop idols who looked like me or my friend’s. Seeing as how she ran with this bully allegations and hurt her black member in the end made me lose all respect for her. Fatou dealt with a lot of racism and is still is to this day, all because Leía could not clear the misunderstandings. Also Leía liking negative tweets about Fatou being bullied on Twitter was twisted. It just comes to show she never cared about BLACKSWAN. If she truly did care she would’ve kept things private. I support Fatou, Judy, and Youngheun. Leia however, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look at her the same.

i can't be the only one feeling extremely awkward seeing this. i've never seen a bullying scandal end well in kpop, and this video is proof that this time won't be different. i keep thinking what i would have done if i was the company's CEO, but its really hard. if you pretend nothing happened, it's obviously bad. if you go on a hiatus and comeback after many months, you lose momentum and that's bad for a kpop group (specially small groups). if you kick leia, there will be backlash from fans. if you DON'T kick leia, there will be backlash from fans. if you make a scripted video apologizing like this one, it sounds fake. i don't know, those things never end well. my guess is they will be disbanding sooner than later. it's not that i want them to disband, i really don't, but korea is not easy on bullying issues. just look at gidle and soojin situation: a popular group from a big company, then someone randomly said on the internet that soojin used to be a bully way back in the day and every korean just believed, no questions asked, she was kicked. you can see in this case their tolerance is ZERO to bullying, even after it was proved soojin never bullied anyone. now imagine how they react to a clear case of bullying with members fighting publicy online. there's nothing you can do, the public reaction in korea is what dictates their future.

Before, I was worried that replacing Leia would just mean Blackswan following the Rania curse with continuous lineup changes. But now I think the fandom is strong enough to go through that lineup change from Leia to Shreya or Gabi, or even both to keep it at 5 members the way I think they’re intending. Either way, Leia won’t be able to learn about her behaviour while sitting deep in the mess she made. She’s got to better herself before she’s able to see the damage she’s truly caused. Leis is talented, she will make a great entertainer in Brazil. Fatou, Judy, and Heun shouldn’t be forced to interact with Leia and vice versa. Separating them is just for the best. I really like Blackswan a lot and I came to know them a few months after debute. I got to learn a lot about Dr music past misdeeds and prayed that with Blackswan there wouldn't be controversies just for something like this to happen. I still have a lot of faith in this group but by the way everything's looking I doubt they'll be the same again. Leias apology isn't sitting well with me and I mean the apology looking script written ain't making the apology authentic at all. With the new members coming in Blackswan I'm nervous about they bond building up as a group and more issues arising. Right now they need to find a common between them if Leia is staying and she needs to fix herself. I really wasn't anticipating for her to come back in group but I guess we need to see what's going to be of Blackswan. My opinion
