Today we will be reading comments on our previous reaction video "[Blackswan] Can Koreans find NON-Korean members in a K-pop group? I EP.3 I Reaction👀" with Blackswan's African member Fatou!
"I completely agree with that one."
"I do get both of these people."
Which ones are those that made Fatou nod?!
Fatou also left a message for LUMINA so stay with us till the end! 👆👆👆

3:15 she's so right, about the whole sharing culture thing, black people want that, a lot of them do, but people always what to take from them, and discard them, and enjoy the benefits whilst still spitting on them and hating them.

Guys don’t misunderstand what fatou meant when it came to the culture sharing part. She’s not too far off. Culture is meant to be EXCHANGED, but sadly people don’t see blk culture as exchangeable and feel entitled to it and start stealing and claiming it as theirs, that’s the problem with it. That is why blk ppl gate keep and should continue to do so until we are treated with respect and our culture is seen as exchangeable.

I like to piggy-back off of your comment by stating that is also why some African-Americans will distinctly say "African-American culture" rather than "American culture". For a very long time, African-American culture (as well as the people) are seen as inferior, undignified and non-existent. For a very long time, white people are seen as the only real representative of "Americans". Non-white people were only allowed to share that title, when it benefitted the United States of America (for example: the Armed Forces, the World Cup and the Olympics).

This .... especially when all the pioneers of kPOP literally name countless black people who inspired their craft ... like kpop wouldn't exist without western pop to model itself after ...

To add on to this a lot of times, like with box braids or other protective styles it isn’t compatible with the culture vultures hair. It causes balding, thinning of the hair, and etc. black people have been trying to tell them for a long time but they keep on repeating the same mistakes unfortunately.

I'm always admirative of how well she explains things! It's not overcomplicated and it's clear she is happy to help other people change their view of us and become better people. There is no judgment, no frustration, no arrogance in her tone, she explains things just as they are with a kind heart and patience, I wish I was like that too haha Thank you for inviting her! I can't wait to watch the next video ❤

Cultures r meant to be shared but it is extremely rough to share with people that steal concepts and claim it as their own. Loses the integral meaning of where the origin of the traditions and backgrounds these components came from. And for that, cultures shouldn’t be shared Willy Nilly.

This sort of thinking is a bit backward I'm gonna be honest... as time goes by more and more mixing of cultures will inevitably take place. You're against interracial marriages then? Cause that's a huge backbone of cultures being mixed and shared. And which group or kpop artist has claimed it to be their own? please tell me

@y2m3e.45
@y2m3e.45 2 жыл бұрын
@@notwillinglyaloof what's not the same thing? How is it different? 🤔 I'll just explain my perspective more with my own experience... I'm Chinese by ethnicity but Indian by nationality. I have a boyfriend that's Colombian. In this big mixture pot of cultures I have in my life, inevitably I use/do things that belong to each culture (which are very different from each other). I have never experienced any of friends or bf's family say anything bad. Infact people have always appreciated my effort of accepting the respective cultures. It's about respect and having no malice in mind.... So, I ask again, which kpop artists have claimed it to be their own? And is it that black people don't want their culture to be used at all? Is it that they don't like seeing others make a profit out of their culture? My close black friends even said they give me the permission to use the n word and I was like no freakin way. Like you guys might be okay with me but I'm uncomfortable with that and don't want to make anyone else uncomfortable too... See, tbh I feel like people who grow up having people from different backgrounds in their life are more open to these topics. And people who grow up in a more homogeneous setting are less tolerable to this. Please don't take my curiosity for bad intentions... but I just don't get it that's why

yessss I'm so here for a black woman that's actually in kpop to expose the bs. ppl feel so intitled to black culture. that's when it becomes hard to share because ppl will take it and run with it while still having racist stereotypical thoughts. they get mad when they learn something is from black culture as if it just fell from the sky. we just need to educate eachother

Sorry but no one can have soul but black people, heavy emphasis on black AMERICAN people. It originated from slavery and negro spirituals that were sung out in the fields. You can’t say you have soul when you have no connection to the roots of soul music. It is ok to enjoy soul music but just because you like the songs and sing them doesn’t mean you are a soul singer

This is my opinion but's not like music goes through people's dna either... I think this concept of culture having 'owners' is very old-fashioned since the world is all connected now and equity should be the goal. Of course soul originated from that context and we should never forget that, but what's wrong with sharing the culture with people who respect and feel connected to it for some reason? I understand when people get mad when a culture is appropiated in a disrespectful or rude way, but if it's done with love and care for the culture and their people, I don't see anything wrong, as Fatou said, culture is made to be shared with others, no matter who...
@y2m3e.45
@y2m3e.45 2 жыл бұрын
@@jhm2732 I agree with you. This is what I said in another comment too. Mixing of cultures is going to be inevitable as time passes. And trying to stop that is kinda backward thinking. I'm sure Fatou understands this very well and therefor said culture is meant to be shared. Since she's in a Kpop group after all, speaking the language and everything. If things are done with respect and no malice, I don't see a problem with taking things from different cultures... I know I wouldn't be mad but I guess that's just me
