Best Tasting Groupers in the World | Clean N Cook

In this Clean N Cook episode of BlacktipH, Capt. Preston, the crew from Gulf Angler Fishing Charters and I fillet some of the best-tasting groupers in the world, including Snowy Grouper, Yellow Edge Grouper, Gag Grouper, Tilefish, and a Wahoo. At Preston's home, we cooked all five species of fish differently with famous Chef Tommy from Dock on The Island. Both Tommy and I prepared the grouper cheeks with a new recipe, cooked them in the pan, and they were incredibly delicious! Tommy prepared the wahoo with jerk seasoning, coastal slaw, and pico to make wahoo tacos. For the tilefish, we created a southern-style dish with garlic mashed potatoes, braised greens, and sweet corn butter. The snowy grouper was grilled "Island Style" with summer squash, Jamaican rice, and caramelized pineapple butter. The Yellow Edge grouper was cooked Louisiana Bayou style with blue cheese crawfish au gratin, grilled asparagus, and lemon garlic. Once Tommy finished cooking, we tasted everything, and the judges picked their favorite dish.

Golf angler fishing charters is by far the best in Destin. Preston and cowboy are awesome and they will always put you on the fish! Captain Drew is also a great dude! To run fishing charters you need to get your captains license. Which requires a class.

You need a captains license for the legistical part, but what you really need is the want and passion to become better everyday at fishing to become a SURVIVING captain. Live and breath fishing, study fish, when other boat captains go home to watch tv and drink you should be rigging for the next day, getting your bait ready, making sure your plan lines up perfectly for your trip, work 110% is the only school you need, it’s harder than school when you go hardcore but it is well worth it brotha

Same here. You don’t need regular schooling for a captain’s license but you do need to take a course with the coast guard. I’m planning on going to college for a marine biology degree so if charter fishing doesn’t work I can still work with fish.
