Thanks very much. Our second video had some issues uploading but we’ve finally got it sorted and it’s now up and running. I hope you like it mate. Cheers

Great first video mate - looking forward to seeing the journey. I've changed quite a few of my lure trebles out for singles - I release more than I keep, and singles make it easier (inline hooks). Vid was great - looking forward to more 🎣🐟👍

Thanks so much for the comment mate I’m stoked you liked the video. I’ll be looking at changing a few trebles out very soon. I have a couple of favourite lures now so I’d really like to try single hooks on those first up. Our second video had a few technical issues with uploading but it’s now live. I hope you like it as much as the last one. Thanks again for your comment and for being a part of our journey. Cheers

Good to see another new lure angler in Perth. I'm relatively new myself. Tried that location twice but no luck, it was more towards the carpark with the little jetty but need to try by the wall. I've heard of people on boats casting towards the wall as there's a big drop off and catching some big ones

I hope it fires up for you there one day mate. We’ve had mixed results at the location on this video as well but love the spot. We’re hoping to try the flats near Mandurah sometime soon to see how that goes.

Lures in the day in the swan river ....hmmmm???? Good luck

We’ve had a lot of luck on the lures since this video. I was never a believer before we started using them enough to get the hang of it.

Good videos mate, appreciated. I'm just still amazed that Aussies are the only people where a right handed person holds the rod in the left hand.

Hahaha It’s funny you say that because I recently bought that very thing up in a conversation. I realised that as a kid I formed a weird habit of casting then swapping hands to reel. Last time I went out I tried to stop the swap. Easy enough but the habit is truly there. We’re glad you enjoy the videos mate and thanks very much for the comment we appreciate it.

I use to go musseling at black wall reach and get a feed until a few people got attacked by bullsharks , so i stopped going as u do

There’s been a fair few sightings around that area over the past year or so. I’m constantly thinking about it when I fish. Really don’t like it when the water is murky and we can’t see things coming.

Nice video mate, haven't been down there for a while. Couple of easy tips, don't hook the lure on the guides may damage the guide. Swap the trebles for single hooks, much easier to unhook the fish and less chance of hooking yourself.
@ReelEscapes11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment mate, we genuinely appreciate it. That’s great advice on both accounts. I’ve been seeing more people using single hooks and assist hook on their lures and have been curious about it. I’ll see if I can find some decent hook replacements for our favourite lures and give it a shot. Our next video should be out in the next few days. We had a great day targeting some flathead. I hope you like it.

Great video, I'm glad I found your channel as I'm almost in the same position, levelling up my fishing skills - but I am pretty sure that this video is fake as I have fished this very location with very similar tackle (but "better" lures) and caught nothing but blowfish and frustration. I still don't have the hang of artificials, so I'm hoping to learn through you. Don't let me down mate.
@ReelEscapesАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel @Azz151515. I’ll do my very best not to let you down. I promise the video is legit, we actually head to Blackwall a lot now and have a fair bit of success on lures. To be honest, we never fish there with bait. We’ve had some time off videoing but are back at it now and will have some new content coming soon, with an announcement of why we’ve been away from the channel for a while. We’re trying out something new for us this Sunday and I’m really hoping we get some decent fish and footage to show you all something different here. Thanks again for the comment we truly appreciate it.

@@ReelEscapes Reely looking forward to it! Sorry for such a sarcastic comment before lol, I was jking of course! It's a great feeling to find a local fishing the same areas that I've been exploring the last 18 months or so.

I know exactly what you mean. We visited the exact same sight last weekend and didn’t see a fish….. Not even bait fish. So we moved on to Claremont jetty and managed to land just two Tailor. Regardless it was a beautiful day to get out and wet a line.

Day out fishing with the Famz Just a hint, Dont put your Lure hook through the eyes of the guide..Hook behind the eyes to the supports
@ReelEscapes9 ай бұрын
Yep great advice mate thanks very much. I’m so used to hooking into the eyes without realising the damage it can do them. Cheers for the comment mate.

It’s on Blackwall Reach parade in Bicton. It’s only a small road so you can’t miss it. Get down there and have some fun mate.

Thanks mate, I’m pretty new to making videos so I’m not sure how to get good audio yet or how to fix it up afterwards. Definitely something I should learn about for future videos.

Hey mate i was wondering,what’s your zodias is it 2-5 lb or the heavier one?
@ReelEscapes10 ай бұрын
Hey mate, sorry for the late reply. My Zodias is a 4-8 lb but to be honest it performs like it’s a little heavier than that.
@metallical876 ай бұрын
I'm in no way a lure expert....especially with hardbodies and crank baits but....your retrieve is good...speed is at about what you would expect a tailor or big flathead to take BUT....add some pauses in every now and then...couple of seconds ...fish usually will start biting on those pauses....only time I haven't had this occur was when I caught my first flathead which was at 45cm or so and that was with wild erratic twitching on a soft plastic etc....but have caught more on slower retrieves and pauses....
@ReelEscapesАй бұрын
So sorry for the late reply we’ve been away from the channel for a bit. That’s great advice, thanks very much for taking the time to comment mate. I’ll add the pause’s to my action and hopefully get some more hookups.
@metallical87Ай бұрын
@@ReelEscapes All good mate, yeah pauses and letting it sink a little bit more usually works well....again not a huge lure expert
@ReelEscapesАй бұрын
We’re happy to take advice mate thanks very much. Since this video we’ve done really well with lures, in fact we use them more often than bait these days. We’re currently trying to learn a bit more about Beach fishing and have just bought ourselves some new setups for it. Hopefully we’ll have some content to show you guys over the next few weeks.
