And, I'm pretty sure I went to the Whitaker Center in first grade because when I went through this mirror maze, someone bullied me from the other row of mirrors next to mine 😢.

I work in this building. Saw lots of fellow state employees in this video. Having been away and working at home for over 18 months it is cool to see it. Makes me feel like I'm still working in there every day.

I sometimes see videos from before the Coof and get a bit of what you're talking about. The life before all this was so much simpler...

The square’s thriving again! Ok, at the very least, it’s close to how much it was thriving in the 90s when I was a kid; despite that, I’m elated to see it! It was pretty dead the last time I visited, with most visitors either going straight to Temple or the Whitaker Center, almost everything else was gone. And the Clock Art Piece is still working!! This was my favorite part of the entire square, I used to love watching it as a kid.

I went to Strawberry Square in 2003 or 2004 to see the Chimpanzee movie with Jane Goodall in the Whitaker Center, that was pretty cool especially the hands on part. When I went through the monkey mirror maze with those monkey bars, near the end, my friend's dad accidentally bumped into a mirror thinking it was an exit, oops 😂. I went to Strawberry Square again in 2008 to see a Hurricane Katrina documentary. I never knew so many people lost their lives during the hurricane ☹️. Then, we went to the hands on part again and rode the train because of Christmas time. My favorite part was making the bubbles 😃😍. Then, we went to the food court for lunch, but, I packed my lunch. The Christmas tree and clock were huge and beautiful 😃😍. Then, I was supposed to see my cousin graduate at the Whitaker Center but she chose not to graduate there 😢. Sorry for the long story.

That is cool how they took the alley between the buildings and made it into a mall. That food court looked nice with those lights. Looked like a lot of office workers there. More of a Monday through Friday mall. Great video.

The Rite Aid there just moved from across the street last year; their corporate offices are right across the river in Camp Hill, so they put a lot of money into making it look nice. That space was originally a Woolworth.

We really love how you have all the specific facts about these locations. We've been following you on flickr for years and really appreciate your viewership!

@@RawRealRetail Wow, thanks! You cover a much wider area than I do, so I'm seeing malls on your channel that I otherwise may not get to see.

What an interesting use of space. The fact that it is in a downtown setting makes it all the more special. The mixture between old and new is exceptional. What a fantastic venue. You can see the thought and care that went into this place. Your video really showcases it. Awesome!

This is my favorite spot in Harrisburg any day! Unfortunately since you’ve made this video, the mall has only died more. Most of the shops shown are shut down 🥲 still, I love inner city malls like this, and this one is special.

I used to work at the state Capitol and would walk around here for lunch often

Do you know any form of history about this mall or where I could find it? All I know is that the clock was installed in 1988 and will soon be removed due to it being to costly and difficult to maintain

We went to Pomeroy's all the time when I was younger, I still think of it as the standard I judge other department stores against to this day.

I remember eating at the restaurants in Strawbridge's and Woolworth as a child. The closest you can get to that these days is if you can get to a select few Boscov's locations that still have old fashioned restaurants in them.
