Chills every time. Usually, saying it's the best ever is a hyperbolic statement, but years after it came out, this still is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. It hits in the soul and the enjoyment hard that even some of the best MCU films don't quite reach for me. It's also very telling how good it is for someone that was originally very much against Miles and the Ultimate Spider-Man series in general. There are cases where quality, execution, and a genuine spirit is so effective that it breaks down barriers and biases.

I really love the spiderverse movies because the message they tell is to never let anyone say you are less or that you don’t fit in (I think Mrs. Morales said it best.) The first movie has Miles crowded by his teammates, questioning him on things and overwhelming him. They even stick him to a chair because they thought he couldn’t help them beat Kingpin. He ends up being the one to save the others. The same happens in the second movie where Miles is underestimated by the spider people, Miguel directly saying to Miles that he does not belong, that he was never meant to be spider-man, that he ruined everything. But even though he thought this for a bit, he realized that he can be whoever he wants to be, that he WAS meant to spider-man.

This movie did diversity right. Instead of reinforcing barriers and mutual resentment, it bridges the gap and celebrates the values of everyone without favoritism. And it's actually a good movie with a good story and good characters. It's not preachy nor using diversity as a smokescreen for inferior quality. It earns respect rather than demanding it. It's not patronizing nor belittling. It's a masterpiece that anyone can enjoy. This leap of faith kinda put me at more of an ease at life. Miles was scared cause he was still holdin on hard to the glass wall and it broke but it shows that even though he is extremely scared he went for it. This scene helps me in slowly overcoming my anxiety or just go ahead straight forward without fear and land into the unknown and rowing with the flow while knowing I have control over the situation, if you could say. Probably helped a lot of people too. That is why at first I kinda didn't watch this movie at home but now after ATSV I'll rewatch this movie knowing this scene will be in store in all of it even though I've watched this scene a lotta times now for 2 or maybe 3 weeks. Animation for both movies are spectacular and love the music. When Miles dropped and went back up again, and was running through the traffic the music was spot on and synced up amazingly.

That's always why I love Spider-Man. He's not the most powerful super hero and often struggles both internally and externally. That element of barely crossing the finish line alive hits hard and becomes truly inspirational. It's those kinds of stories that stick with you. This movie had a perfect harmony between the cool factor and the heart.
