This series has cemented my love of the ghost noir genre. I just finished Epiphany last night, and I'm heartbroken. :C ... And, a little confused. I thought for sure... {{SPOILERS}} ... that they were going to take on the "vampires" (led by Silva, who I'd suspected was a high-ranking part of the organization, if not its leader). I mean, I never once thought Madeline WASN'T evil, but to have the ending boil down to a "save the world from the suicidal villain" plot rather than a "confrontation with the true villain" seemed kinda... unsatisfying. Even worse still, it feels like giving Joey his life back but stripping him of his ability to see and interact with the dead doesn't feel like it was written for story closure; it felt like it was there more so that the creator doesn't have any reason to continue the series. It just felt... really lazy. Like they didn't even care about the story anymore and they just wanted the series to be over. I loved Blackwell and this felt like a cold send-off for the series. :/ That's just how I felt, though; I just loved the characters so much, so I don't feel like they were "laid to rest" fairly.

There be spoilers below, arrrr~ It took me a few minutes to look up the answer since I haven't played any of these games in FOREVER, but although Police Commissioner Alex Silva's name was first dropped in the epilogue of Deception, she's NEVER physically been in the game. She was hinted to have a serious connection to everything, and even Dave Gilbert (the creator) confirmed that Silva was a member of Gavin's cult. So, what happened? Gilbert happened! Originally, there were supposed to be 6 games in the series, with 2 games occurring after Deception: a fifth game and then Epiphany. The original fifth game would've focused on Rosa's struggle against the cult, but Gilbert cut it for 2 reasons: he really wanted the series finished, and he thought the spiritual vampire subplot sucked. He WAS gonna change the Rosa interrogation scene after Lia's death to include a scene in Silva's office, but he couldn't figure out a satisfying way to write her puppet-mastering everything, so he scrapped it and her. If you turn on commentary mode in Epiphany, there's a deleted, bare-bones scene where Rosa meets Silva, but that's all we're gonna get of that.

i know what Rosa needs. she needs a bluetooth headset. then people around will think that she is talking on the phone with a headset all the time, that's better than if they think that she's just talking to herself :)

I bought the first 4 games in a bundle during the Christmas sale and never got around to playing them until 2 nights ago... I sat through game 1-2 and absolutely love the humor. Addicting to your story telling and once I finish game 4 in a couple days I'll be purchasing 5 off of Steam at full price. Thank you for the great games and superb voice acting.

Man, I can imagine a new episode with the current technology. After Effects facial motion track, Adobe Character Animator, 2D live link. It'll be awesome! I'm a veteran artist. If Wadjet Eye opens a job position, I'm pretty sure I'll apply for the job and help with the new tech. I love the Blackwell series and Unavowed.
