i finally took my horse to the beach on the 1st of January 2012. it was the first time i ever rode any horse on a beach in all my 20 years of riding. I was riding western and on this day i had my Ipod on. and i had this song "The Ride" playing on my Ipod while cantering my horse on the beach and in the water. that was the most fun i had ever ever had on my horse. i had fullfilled my dream of riding on the beach.

I saw this in the movie theater in 1979. I was six years old! I haven’t seen it since, but I just bought the DVD on eBay. And no wonder it’s so good, it’s directed by Francis Ford Coppola! The Best!!!

my chestnut quarter horse is terrified of water but i'm going to swim with him one day and ride him on the beach like Alec and the Black do here. this is the most magical scene of the who movie. i love Cass Ole and i always will. he is a BIG part of why i became an equestrian. I love how in the movie and of course in the books the Black only ever allows Alec to ride him. Alec is the one human who won his trust and respect - which given the Black’s incredible spirit is a huge compliment and honor for Alec. Alec earns the Black’s love and trust. It’s quite beautiful.

Cass Olè and all the stunt horses used for the 2 films were stunning. But the scenes on the island where the stallion galloped free of saddles and bridles makes this creature majestic and unreal. Somehow part of the magic was lost when back in civilization.

my stepfather was an equestrian trainer who tamed horses with discipline,This film is the antithesis to that,a romantic version of horse and man(boy) in harmony.Last time i checked Kelly Reno was still working with horses as a man.Most folks will not appreciate how difficult and dangerous these scenes were ! Riding a powerful stallion bareback is mighty stressful.Riding it through shorefront waters risky! But the results+added music create a breathtaking display >my admiration to Kelly for these incredible scenes ! rjm-Dortmund

Can you imagine how wonderful it was for this kid to be a part of this movie, to share such trust with such a wonderful horse! I get goosebumps just imagining myself in his place! Especially this part of the filming...there already had to be a rapor between Kelly and Cass to even be able to get these scenes!!!! I'm so jealous, I so wish I were him! I can't imagine anything sweeter than being on the back of that stallion after having enticed him to come to me!!!!!!!!!

You are no longer horse and human, you are one being together. You know each other so well, you know each other's next move. Dogs and humans are very well in tune to each other, but to have an intimate relationship with a horse is just so much MORE!

Yea, he had severe injuries and the long recovery time put an end to his acting career. After a long recovery period Reno is now a certified truck driver. I dreamed so much with this film....

Maraviloso Es la parte mas exitante de la pelicula Diria un momento magico que se da cuando entras en contacto con el caballo. Brazil seguramente tu nunca has etado en contacto estrecho con un caballo y obiamente no has experiementado una situacion asi Es una situacion de disfrute entre los dos El que quiere demostrar lo que puede hacer y te desafia y te reta . What are the six creatures closet to humans that get along with them? The equine species is one of them and they do not like being abused regardless they are black, brown, white; or a combination of all three. Also, they now how to swim as they run. They both ate seaweed & the kid caught fish for himself. (Back then it was ok to eat seaweed....way to polluted now!) Also in the book a small fresh water srping was mentioned found in the middle of the island somewhere.

Não gostei... Se o cavalo pudesse escolher não estaria aí se esforçando pra fazer parte de um delírio de alguns cinéfilos. Imagine quantas vezes o animal teve que correr pra que esses 7 minutos de edição fossem aproveitados! É bonito de se ver, mas se parar pra analisar, o cavalo certamente não gostaria de estar ali. Se estive solto na natureza, sozinho ou em tropa, e quisesse ficar correndo na beira do mar tudo bem...
