I’ve bought 2 of these and they both drift. I’ve done all the trimming and programing and it doesn’t help anything. It’s pretty damn annoying. My friends 230 hovers perfectly and he’s replaced the frame a couple times

Same with mine, no idea why it is drifting so much.

Hey @evinsprague, Thanks for taking the time to drop a comment. My apologies for not getting to it sooner. 😌 I'm sad to hear you've been having issues with your Helis. 😕 -Did you get them used or new? Sometimes people beat up Helis with rough landings or just bad crashes and it can damage the gyro or others things. Another thing is that sometimes people replace a linkage and never properly retune it. I will say that these 230's are not like a GPS Heli that you can let sit there with hands off the sticks... They do constantly drift and it's a full time job to keep them in one spot of you want it to hover really stable. 🫡 So I'm not sure if what you are experiencing is "normal" for a collective pitch heli without a flight controller or its always a possibility to get a defective item.. which happens more and more these days. 🥲 Also, could I ask a favor- Could you edit your above comment to remove the word "D*m*, I totally get your frustration with the Helis and don't take this personally. 😏I strive to keep this channel a family friendly atmosphere and that requires me to curb the stronger language. Trust you will understand. 😃👍🏼

I think that Horizon always discontinues the previous version, so if you can get your hands on the 230S it's because it's leftover stock. I think what you have is actually what was after the 230S v2. The very first 230S is the one that I had. I pimped it up with a ton of aftermarket parts and ended up selling it. It was a nice heli. It's the one I tried my first inverted hover on, pushed Rescue, saved it, and walked away happy. Then the 230S v2 came out and then the 230S SMART which is basically a v2 but with the added telemetry which I am pretty sure is what you have. Seems like you are having fun, that's great. Hopefully you keep trying out some heli fun seems I think you mostly fly planes. Cheers!

Wow, somehow I've been late getting to the comments...my apologies. 😕 I definitely understand what you mean about the price.. I feel that #SpektrumRC is over priced for what they offer. That's why I have started exploring RadioMaster. As for swapping the RX! Although I believe this Heli uses a 2-in-1 RX/Gyro, so if you switched up TX/RX, you would also have to come up with a new solution for a flybar-less controller/gyro. There are lots of options out there but I couldn't advise you on which way to go with that because I don't have personal experience.... but maybe someone else will see our comments and share their own personal experience! 🤔

no they were new when i purchased them and the crashes were due to equipment failure the only good i can say about this brand is you really get good at working on rc helis and i got to give props on all those channels that show how to repair them take my advice compare a omp to blade you even see the difference in the parts and materials and the only reason i say all these thing is beacuse a lot of people get discouraged from the hobby

Man, that's really sad. 🥲 Still though, I'm interested in what actually broke in flight that would cause you to crash it? Like, let's hear some details? Please don't take it personally, I mean no offense, but the information you're sharing does seem a bit vague. I would be interested in learning what issues these have so I could inspect the ones I have and catch them before it causes a crash. 🤨 Again, thanks for being willing to share information and help grow the hobby! 😃

Thats my type of Flying , clipping @ 60 mph. 230s V-1 was Green canopy/ White skids& blades & had habit of tilting during spool ups , that was remedied by Alum plate from Microheli that cushions protects ESC. V-2's of which i Fly daily were the next one introduced & the best ones of the bunch . No expensive propietary batteries or chargers , non Smart tech.Green light which is solved by cell phones timer & modes can be changed in air ,something the Smart ones have been having issues. By design & being economical , they will be around awhile, something their SR was not able to do. That one was a nightmare ......

Wow, that's definitely no fun! 🤯 Sounds like you have been through it with Helis! I can understand why you would feel frustrated with them. 🥲 I'm curious though, did you have any incidents with them prior to the issues you had? Like any crashes, Hard Landings, or Prop Strikes? 🤔 And did you buy them used or new? Lots of times I find that people get a plane or Heli and complain about it but their difficult experience is do to poor handling or rough piloting. No disrespect towards you or anyone else but sometimes people complain about an item and it ends up just being user error or caused by inexperience. Also, I hope you know that I'm not sponsored by anyone, 💸🚫 so I'm not trying to peddle any particular brand. I'm only sharing what I have and find enjoyable for myself. 🙂 I've looked into getting an OMP Heli and they seem like nice Helis! I plan to get one in the future but I also don't like some of the drawbacks of direct drive helis. Another key factor for me which might seem a bit petty, but it's a fact that if given the option to tinker with programming or be in the air flying... I'm more apt to buy the one that's a BNF configuration with my Spektrum Transmitter! Lol. #Lazy #RatherBeFlying Haha! 😄 Anyways, thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences and please share more information about if you had some crashes or how you cared for your Blade 230 prior to having these issues. 👍🏻 Remember I'm Unsponsored and Unbiased! 😉 Ps, I currently have 3-Blade 230's and have never experienced an issues or needed to replace any parts on any of them. 🤔

👋 Hi Dave, Thanks for stopping by the channel and taking the time to type your thoughts! 👍🏻 Sorry to hear you have/had trouble with yours. Can you share more details about what you did that yours would break and what broke on yours? I've not crashed mine or had any hard landings or blade strikes, so no issues here! 🙂
