Thank you. Do the blades need to be flat and level at center throttle. Can I check this with hold on or do I need to disconnect motor wires?
@IansRCExploits Жыл бұрын
Yes Nevile disconnect the motor wires, make sure your throttle and pitch curves are linear 0 to 100% and then you want 0 degrees at center stick 😀👍

Couple of things I forgot to say Paul as I rushed a bit!! If you can get the servo arms at 90 degrees mechanically if you can or as close as possible by moving the servo horns!! So then you use as little Sub trim as possible!! I mentioned about making sure you've got a linear pitch and throttle curve, when you've got the swash level at mid stick you then check your blades are at 0 pitch!! If there not you can adjust the top links and get them as close to 0 pitch as you can, once you've done that your 330s should be fine!! Sad to see the video I made to help you got 3 dislikes!! Some people that watch KZbin are the pits!! Message me if you have any more questions👍😄

@@IansRCExploits Hey Ian. Thanks again for your time. I've had a quick look while waiting for my pitch guage. Swash was a bit out and already had figures in of 42 -82 -46. I've ended at 42 -59 -17 Arm position looks good but I'll try and get the figures smaller using control rod adjustment. I did find you can't be in normal because when you drop out of subtrim the plate moves to compensate for Heli position. I don't think I can message you on Utube now, they removed the option. As for the dislikes, anyone who does that without leaving a comment explaining why, hasn't really got anything worth listening to Cheers Paul
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
Thinking about it you should reset each servo to 0 which would be neutral, then get your servo arms as close to 90 as possible then use your sub trim to get the final position as my sub trim is on 0 0 0 so when they rebuilt it at Horizon they must have got the servo arms pretty close!! I would be very careful of adjusting the links because you don't now what the measurements were to start off with, you only adjust them if any part of the 3 positions of the swash are high or low!! You can switch safe off in normal mode but you should only be adjusting things in forward programming like I showed you so the cyclic Gyros are not active!!
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
I'm a bit concerned now Paul those figures you quoted don't seem right!! Your not talking about the AFR menu are you? Because that should be Roll -75 Pitch -75 Collective 50 Don't change those what ever you do or you will be in trouble Lol they determine your Blade pitch so don't touch them.

Just wanted to add a comment because it seems the SPMSH3055 Cyclic Servos for the Blade 330S will be unavailable or on back order for quite some time. Expected availability date is going to be toward the End of August 2022. The Gear Replacement for either the SPMSH3050 or the SPMSH3055 Servos is Part Number:SPMSP1040. This Gear Set can be used for either Servo. Hopefully, this will help you get back in the air before the End of August 2022.

Hello, Ian: Are parts availability being difficult from Horizon only or Vendors in General?

@@IansRCExploits I think you are correct, Ian. My apologies for the Democrat Party of the U.S. It is my feeling they are behind alot of the shortagies people are experiencing around the world. The items people are needing are more likely in a shipping container on a ship or barge waiting to either unload or load.

Well Joseph, the UK government aren't much better!! Things are getting so expensive, yesterday I had to pay £2 per Lt for Diesel fuel, the most I have ever paid it costs over £100 to fill an average car in the UK 😒

A couple of my linkages popped off on a hard landing when battery died. I lost one and don't know where the other went. How do I go about making sure the new linkages are adjusted correctly? I only have a simple controller that came with the RTF and am very beginner so most things in this video were over my head on programming
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
Well Jeremy that is going to be a bit of a problem!! As it doesn't say in any manuals what length they should be!! All I can suggest is that if you know anyone with an RTF Blade 330s to measure their links and you make your new links the same!! When they build these Helie's they must have a ball park measurement to start with!! Maybe get in touch with Horizon Hobby see if they can help, Hope you get it sorted, I could give you the link lengths if mine but I have altered mine slightly so I would advise you to get the stock lengths 😄👍

@@IansRCExploits thanks for your response. Could I turn on my controller and with the cyclic stick in neutral just level the swash plate with the linkages?
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
No not really Jeremy because the throttle also control you swash movement, it has a very clever mix so the 3 servos move together!! When you build a Heli you are given the lengths of each link and then you would level the swash plate at what is called centre stick!! That's when the throttle is at dead centre, it is a bit of a nightmare for you!! Your best bet is to get the lengths of each link some how 😄👍

@IansRCExploits Жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, unfortunately with the Dx6 you don't get the forward programming!! So the only way you will be able to level the swahplate is mechanically with a swash plate leveling tool, sadly this won't help solve the attitude trim issues if your experiencing them 😀👍

Once again Ian; very helpful for me! Will this approach work on any of the Blade S series Helis? I had to conduct a similar repair on one of my 150S Helis and used a mechanical approach, turning the ball links by hand, to get the swashplate level. I never knew about the Forward Programming method. That looks simpler and potentially more accurate. My repair was at the end of the flying season, I better double check all that; LOL. Did you do anything special (from a safety point of view) to prevent accidental spin up of the main rotors? Does Forward Programming lock out the main motor, or did you physically disconnect the motor?
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
I disconnected the motor wires Wolfgang!! But I was rushing and forgot to say!! I don't think it does work the same on the 150s or the 230s!! It's a function on the FC6250HX flight controller that allows you to use forward programming to set the Heli up!! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍😄
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
Oh yes when you are in forward programming indicated by a blue flashing led the motor is disabled!! But I always disconnect the motor wires just in case!! I like having all my fingers Lol

@@IansRCExploits Hi Ian. I just conducted a test with my 150S. It works very similar, to what you described for the 330S. Forward Programming - Setup - Swashplate - Sub Trim to see the Channel 1, 2, and 3 sub trim settings. Adjustments can be made her to level the swashplate electronically. The AFR setting doesn't exist on the 150S AR636 receiver. However the following does permit swashplate up and down movement to verify level movement through its range: Forward Programming - Swashplate - Pitch. Thanks again Ian. I'll definitely be checking my swash plates for level position. A job for tomorrow.
