I played BoS a long ass time ago and stopped playing around the time Gunslinger was release due to having really poor internet at a new house. Why not do the blue quests? I typically enjoy doing sidequests cause it gives me a better sense of the minor NPCs and zone lore. But I havent even opened the game yet so maybe there is a good reason not to, I dont really mind going slow

It's kind of frustrating to return to this game cause when there's something new there's little to no coverage on it. I stopped playing since the max level was 45, it has become too difficult to return.

I remember when you first started out years ago, you'd get a purple-grade weapon that you'd constantly "feed" the drops you got into it, in order to upgrade it. I take it that system has been taken out of the game, at least at that beginning levels? Naturally all my old characters have their upgradeable weapons, but I made a Warden recently to try out, and I'm just getting random blues from the campaign as you explained here. I take it there's a point where you do these things, but when does that happen now?

The old system for weapons is basically entirely removed you now play through the story with the crap it gives you until you get to about 20-30 hours in depending on how quickly you move. At that point you get a riftwalk/dawnforged selection box. Pick whichever, it doesn't really matter because you'll be trading it in soon. At that point the weapons are upgraded by offering a weapon like the old system that drops from a dungeon, however you can also solo farm them at a location called moon refuge that you unlock about 45 hours into the story. I would recommend just solo farm them for the guarenteed drops to get that weapon up to stage 9. And then you jump over to the raid path at aransu 3. After that it's just running raids and feeding drops from the raid, or buying the raid drops off the market for a few gold a piece to upgrade. No more farming hundreds of times the same dungeon to progress.

I tried to play this game but it was extremely frustrating to learn. I would say it's not worth it atm. You can buy stuff off the market cheaper than crafting and it take too long to lvl up the craft and even crafting itself.

It's a free MMORPG they have to make money somehow, I've read on the forums that a guy spent $1,000 on the game and it didn't get him very far so if that answers your question. Try the game out though.

Legendary has it pretty well, you need to spend a lot of money in this game to win. 85-95% of it is entirely free to play so play whats free to play if you don't wanna spend money and then move on to something else. There's still a solid 50+ hours of fun to have without spending a dime. (not counting repeatable daily missions and what not...)
