[Blade and Soul] How to Get Better FPS!

A quick look at some settings you can change in game and on your PC to improve your FPS in Blade and Soul! A 10-15% increase!

Just adding a note, as @Osama Bin Yeti had pointed out, if you are running on a single/low core count rig then realtime priority will have negative effects. This is only a useful setting because BnS only uses one core on your PC at any time, so you basically are telling the PC that whatever core BnS is on don't do anything else. If you only have 1 core or a few cores, you're severely handicapping your rig. Choose the "high priority" option instead if you are having issues. Edit: Also don't do this for other games, as they use multiple cores... choose high priority instead.

@@twinmage6870 play around with both of those settings and judge for yourself, honestly I would still advise against playing on realtime, as first of all it might cause crazy shit like blue screens if you're really unlucky and second of all, at the point where you don't have 1/2 cores on your cpu, you should be using high eitherway

@@twinmage6870 upgrading your pc even more while it's already not doing anything is even more of a reason not to use realtime, process priority becomes less relevant the better hardware you have, always keep it at High

you don't want to set the Client.exe process to Realtime. The reason why that is, is because Realtime is an above-hardware level of priority, tldr it's gonna make it so the game itself is higher priority than your mouse & keyboard. You don't want to have your inputs slower in this game trust me, stay with process priority on High.

I used to play BnS on a cheap laptop windowed on 800 x 400 res and the highest fps I got was around 12.

I just recently got back into bns and noticed from changing display objects visibility setting to 1 gave me a 40+ fps boost right off the bat. apparently, it's bugged and has been bugged for a while, you can also change shadows lower, but it's only gave me a 5+ fps boost. make sure v-sync is off too that gave me 10+ fps boost as well. hope this helps for anybody confused like I was.

bnsbuddy doesnt do anything on the server side. So it is legal even though ncwest didnt say it. As long as u dont exploit or change anything that affects the server, they dont care. And never use it to bypass the game protection. You might get banned for it. Other than that it is just a launcher that help turning off useless animations and force ur cpu cores and gpu to work harder

NightCrawller real-time works better for some people, while high may work better than real time for some people

Keyboard, Mouse, Audio and other inputs use "High-Priority - Lv15" if you set a Game on Real-Time, The worst it can happen is Bork your system to completely unresponsible on inputs, lagg it or even hang it, make a delay on your keyboard/mouse, choppy sound. And the only way to shut your pc will be from main Power, if Real-time priority is set on startup to recover from this is Safe-Mode only. Because Game has higher priority then your inputs, the side-Effect of using Real-Time won't happen straight away but it will once your pc runs out of resources. this Guide was to help improve FPS right, So while it can help Higher End PCs gain few extra FPS (Higher-End people probably aren't watching guides how to improve FPS anyway) so it was more focused to low ends. it will definetelly bork for low end pcs who are trying to squeez as much as possible. It's not recommended to use Real-Time in any case, Unless your have a dedicated machine who was built to use Real-Time. - So if anyone wants to use it, they can, Unless you have Low Cores, Then do not use it at all cost. but it should have been explained in the video of risks that can cause.

I'm so disappointed of this game for this....how is it possible for me with my i7 intel (not gamer) raid in a 100+ people faction invasion just by lowering the graphics in Aion AND still able to harm some players during that raid....but in BnS I can't even tickle the boss of any 6 player dungeon because fps drop, this is depressing...

I followed these steps and my FPS is still pretty crap. I'm being told that my year old rig is just too cruddy to get much better, which I find bizarre. In any case, one of the changes I made seems to have had some negative changes for when blade and soul isn't running (or even when it is). I'm finding that my text when typing is grainy, and my pictures no longer offer a preview... does anyone know which change I should undo to fix that issue?

Anyway to reduce ping? I use pingzapper and i get around 250+ms and its really hard to do any content in party since most bosses have rage timer on. And being on the last in dps counter is really sad and depressing... I hope ue4 improves ping in some way or the other or my only hope would be to go mobile after bns mob launches

FPS isnt the issue for me, What is is when a boss is casting an ability that u gotta either press Space or Q to dodge, it freezes or stutters like hell... is there a fix for that?

Hyperlad Gaming yes! I never had any issue during raid/boss fight until after the awakening patch my game freezes in msp during stage 2 where the boss casts a 360 degree aoe and my fps is at 85+ but the game freezes in a sudden! Really frustrated at first because it never happened before, so i tweaked around abit, go in setting, under camera, disable “ reflex something something text”sorry I don’t remember the full name for that option. But it worked for me, never freezes during those situations ever again!

Just wondering, most of the time my FPS is decent, but the question is what can I do to prevent the FPS drop, for example, my FPS was at 120, but once the combat started, my FPS just suddenly dropped to something like 20. Also sometimes my game just freezes or crashes :((

HUD - disable a bunch of quests you aren't doing. No matter what you're gonna get FPS drop at the start of combat. You see it in my video as well.

Settings will default to original when you close application. Need to reapply every time. Also try high priority instead of real-time if you’re having issues

I haven't played BnS for half a year now and I was so disappointed when I saw the upcoming content trailer. All I want is UE4 overhaul but they only showed like 30s of KFM skills testing. By now, I am pretty sure UE4 is way down the line in 2019.
