Hey, it was a nice video and I enjoyed watching it. There's a couple of things I'd add or just mention briefly. Yes, crafting is very unimaginative and dull in this game. It's practically useless in terms of profit, but some professions do give you unique, untradable consumables. I.e. Frenzy Potions and stronger buff foods etc. While these are not mandatory by any means they're still nice to have if you care about min maxing. Only difference would be Champion's Charms crafted by Earthseers. Those do give you(and your party) quite decent bonus of 100 elemental damage for 30minutes. As for performance. While it's true that the game does have optimization issues and puts quite a stress on your CPU, the game does run well most of the time. These issues usually don't show up until you partake in raids or some other larger scale content. As long as you have a 'decent' CPU things like your daily dungeon runs shouldn't prove to be an issue. Should have mentioned cash shop too though I can understand why you probably didn't. It's mostly fine until they decide to cater to whales and end up throwing the in game economy in chaos. Recent attempts to control inflation and the flow of raw gold were a direct result from the aforementioned. Oh, and you definitely should have mentioned events. Usually there's always some sort of event going on. Most of the time these are great, especially for people who are still fairly new to the game.

thanks levi for doing the video i feel like the game its just as good as it is and i really enjoy playing the game, hoping the unreal engine 4 comes out soon so we can fix a lot of problems this game has and the players can support the game itself just by enjoying and not complaining for everything... in the whole time i have been playing i have never sent a ticket or something like that and obviously the lag and stuff like that its part of everygame existing, you can't make everyone happy but you can see the bright part of this playing with some friendly people :D ... keep doing videos i really enjoy watching

Been awhile since I've subscribed you Evil, and I have to admit. Seeing you grow after so long is awesome. Though I have stopped playing a long time ago, due to work and school, it seems like the game is still doing somewhat well. But even though I haven't played in a good 5-6 months, I have to agree with a lot of the things you are saying here, including crafting. Crafting was never really a money-making thing in the game... it was more of a "I got my crafting this high!" type a thing. One thing I wish you did point out here, though, is how technical the game can be. And by that, i mean by the abilities each class has, and doing certain combos. Learning certain combos is arguably what makes or breaks a player, especially a new one. If you don't know your rotation, your DPS drops considerably. And especially in PVP... there are so many combos and countering that goes into play, it's remarkable. Their 1v1 and 3v3 PVP systems are pretty solid in that regard. Like you said, it really boils down to the skill of the player. Was refreshing watching you though. I'm not sure if I'd be returning to the game any time soon, but still awesome to see how far you've progressed!

i got windows 10, and new graphics card my graphics is bad after an upgrade. I check Nvida 1070 and all appears ok. I done the setting to high from game menu and 64 bit etc. Not sure why the resolution is by 1920 x 1080 wide and looks blury and is just not optimized I mean very bad? Can any 1 help please, did u get this type of issue? I appreciate your help :) I really want to play this game again but its just unplayable. Not sure what is going on thanks cant wait to get this game working.

I remember the glory days of bns When ppl actually did world pvp and would constantly help new players so that they would help in world pvp as well as dungeon runs...the game is sooo good but they arent balancing out the grind

I believe the changes to crafting and the gearing up portion are not due to them trying to make things more stream lined and functional/usable I think its done this way on purpose cause you can use real world cash to get the upgrade components through their Ncoins. so its more money in their pockets, and things are not cheap, just changing what your character looks like (not even a race change) will run you about 15 bucks. a new outfit will run you from 10-30 bucks worth of Ncoins depending on the outfit. so I| think its about gouging the player for a "better experience" also membership costs are kind of high for the little bonuses you get. sure bonuses add up over all but its still a bit of an ouch for a "free" game level of game. I do wholeheartedly agree about the story tho, they center line your character specifically in it which is great, and novel level of story telling/plot even if it does get a little confusing as far as how or why things are happening the way they are. so those that watch through the cut scenes really pay attention and open your mind up as its not a simple story. the graphics are great for the type of game but also very intense on the system and could be optimized, about every 4 hours maybe 3 even, find a place to log out of the game completely and restart it, it will help with SOME of the system lag issues as the cache gets bogged down and needs flushed of the TSR files (terminate and stay resident files) down side is the LONG load up time as it takes a bit for the game to load/re-load. suggested for many players is a true gaming VPN company, one of the higher quality ones as the pings could hurt you, its one of the more ping laggy games Ive noticed, my ping in most games is anywhere from 60-120 depending on game and current server load of that game (never exceeding the 150 mark), this one will be 150 all the way up to 350 from one fight to the next. I think some of the ping issue on my part with BnS is I have a lower bandwidth but quick service (bandwidth does not always related to latency or packet loss). and this one spikes badly, specially if you are playing for several hours at a shot (again, cache getting clogged up). if raiding reboot before each raid is suggested for most people.

blade and soul is one of the best mmo out there but this game has already begun the first stage of its downfall by removing means and methods for free to play players to farm for gold and nerfing gold earned from dungeons for new players . and also the payed players who bought end game gear only wants to do dungeons with people of similar gear even for low tier dungeons and raids , kicking anyone who isnt end game gears instead of helping new players . many new players quited . i want to invite a lot of my friends to the game but it would just be scamming them. so i recommend u to stay away from it if u are not planning to spend money.

Why people keep saying this is a p2w game? I have been playing since day 1 in NA sever and I didn’t pay a dime for gears. Yet, I only spend on outfit to support the artists in game also it’s a very nice custom :) find a good clan to join. There are many people willing to help new players. I don’t mind carrying low ap as long as knowing mech.

So 1v1,2v2,3,3 are balanced in regards to stat scaling, but aren't Hungmoon levels still a big advantage in there? and if so.. how long do those take for a newer player to achiev? Curious.

SamuraiYagamoth hongmoon levels imo, doesnt really help like a whole lot. Like it gives QoL buffs and thats it. Took me last september to mid april of 2018 to get to hongmoon level 14 from just doing dailies and logging off.

Played this couple years back and it was a crazy grind like never ending and got boring fast after you get to a point where all you do is grind for upgrades over and over from the same places.Also PvP was riddled with bots and hack macros etc. If the game is not like now then its well worth playing imo because i used to love this game so much.

I mostly agree with your rating, but dungeons should be a bit higher. Maybe you should add smth like "Beginner friendly/catchup"- Point in there, as this what most new players are facing unless they are willing to buy stuff from the shop.

that 6.9 is not actually totally fair i think because there is the rank of crafting system which ruins the whole thing .. i do agree that the crafting system is kinda poor but about if its worth it ... id say yes! in EU region crafting 35 transformation stones a day can bring you from 25 to 70 Gold/day .. depending on how prices are going ... but its totally free like you buy all materials, press 1 button to start crafting , wait 24 hours and sell the stuff... there u go Free gold

Crafting system is far from useless. Buffs, Reset Charms, Aransu Orbs/Smelting Orbs, Transformation stones etc which saves you a lot of farming. Also, Bloodpearls will be craftable too, so you can up your soul without farming like a madman. Noone buys these boxes, because everyone has enough of them. Each Dungeon you get a Material Chest which contains Rare Element and can be opened with Keys from the respective guild.

It's definitely not bad in my opinion, releveling a character as I get back into it, played in the Chinese beta then in the US beta and on for a while, just recently came back. While I wouldn't give it a 10 for story, it's still not bad for the most part, 8 or 9, but I've been spoiled by FFXIV and XI. Hopefully see how welcoming it is to new players at end game, they're spoiling me during the leveling process, have to purposefully gimp my SIN to even have a chance to practice combos and muscle memory for skills. Hopefully it'll hold up when I hit endgame, looking forward to it.

Me amd my friend started playing 2 days ago, questing for the first time is pretty fun, story is kinda meh, nobody is really important to me other than the main villain. Lvling is easy, classes are different in playstyle and in difficulty, character creation is awesome, music is awesome, voice acting is done well for the most part. My verdict here for the new players would be to try this out, other comments might keep you away from it, but you dont need to do anything to finish the story, just play and have a good time. Only time will tell whether the game will keep up in terms of excitement tho, perhaps the end game will be just as bas as everyone are saying it is.

Think your review is relatively biased here, you don't really talk about the realistic factors about rpgs that would easily push new players away, such as Solo farm & gold generation being extremely awful. the game's netcode is rudimentary and full of artificial lagg both input and upstream buffering. you don't mention drop rates, very little towards community & gear discrimination that are so inflated new players will not feel welcome. no mention towards poor client optimisation and constant client freezing and crashing which will occur and the roll of a dice, it wont matter how good ur build is, nothing about loot systems in dungeons and the potential for greedy players and trolling and the good old dungeon finder queue and cross servers being a step up in mediocrity with lagg xD but by all means rate it's graphics and whatnot :D Nice video tho, good job

I lost interest in the game over the last few months of updates. Arcana and VT Badge, Awaken BT Accessories, Materials for True soul, VT/BT Soul Shield, Raven 9 weapon and even Guilded Gem. I love the game. but the market is broken and is in conflict with the crafting system. Because everyone has experienced what running dungeons with people high geared players are and how fast it is to do the lower top dungeons, nobody wants to do it with lower level players so you would get kicked from dungeon lobby if you try to enter with basic gear with more than enough AP to do the dungeon. To me they implement every thing to hold you back from progressing.

I have a suggestion, I know how hard it is for new player to find people to run older dungeons. My suggestion is why don't NCsoft increase the gold for the dungeons a little more but limit the attack power of the dungeons so people won't rush through it really fast but still rewarded for new and old player. I know a couple gold's early game is important to new player. I think I'mma start f8 running lower dungeons for new people.

New player here, less than a week played. I love B&S so far. The story has been great so far and I've had no issue concerning performance. As far as felling welcomed as a new player, I couldn't be happier. Once I joined my faction, and started asking "noob" questions, I had several offers from complete strangers for dungeon runs and great advice on what I should be doing as a new player. I felt very welcome. I'm sure later on the latest patch might be an issue concerning gold and whatnot but right now I'm still a F2P player and enjoying my first run through B&S. Please, don't let the negativity prevent you from enjoying a pretty sweet game.

Great video, I would rate the game in the same way. Everyone talks about how bad gold making is as a new player and that you are forced to spend money - not at all. You can achieve literally everything without cashing tho you have to invest a good amount of time. Fair deal imo. Adjust ur grind to your own pace - either commit full ham to rush end game or keep it a slower but steady pace. Just give the game a shot :)

I agree with all the ratings except for gearing. You CAN get everything in this game through playing BUT... you can either play for half a year to reach the gear (for F8 dungeon searches) to get into all the dungeon/raid contents this game has to offer. OR just swipe your credit card couple hundred, few thousand bucks and be nearly capped within a week or even days. Overall, it is extremely unfriendly to new players, in terms of upgrading their equipments. (Example: even the most basic upgrade from Seraph/Baleful requires Aransu Orb which is from the weekly dungeons, how are new players such as of 900 950AP going to get into a party running these weeklies who asks for 1050 or even 1.1k+) I had so much struggle playing this game for the first 2 weeks after finishing the story.

Sounds like this game kind of forces you to pay if it means you can't even party up to do the content required to get the gear upgrades. That's pretty lame. I am about to pick up this game for the first time, gonna join a friend whose been playing for a long time, so at least I'll have someone who can help me, and hopefully that'll do it, cause if I have to wind up paying to get better gear, well... I won't. I'll just quit. I get that as a F2P game they need to make money, but this is not the way. Cosmetics, mounts (next to a free in game one, every mmo should offer at least that much imo, so really just different additional mounts in the cash shop for their looks) and the like, yeah. I like that, I don't mind paying for that, but stuff you'd have to buy since else you can't even basically play the game and progress... nope.

Not really You can run any WoW expansion on low end configuration, even the newest BFA expansion The only problem is that people don't really like doing hardcore leveling to the point where it takes you 20 hours just to hit the max level and another 200 hours to get the best gear

KR VN THAI you can have everything bye farming ( new players can still farming yeti for moonstone ) , every friday-satuday-sunday they give scared oil and pet mat in challen , gem you can get bye farming boss , if you want to have gold you can make silverfrost tranformation stone to sell => you can farming gold for soul , pet ,outfit ,gem ( if you dont want to ks with ppl) . Yatou Kusha you don't have to pay to get geared in NA either and KR is way more p2w than NA, they even have a chance to fail upgrading gear while NA doesn't. The problem is that NA players aren't used to grinding and don't like grinding like KR players so they call it p2w. They pretty much expect a lot of things to just be handed to them while KR don't mind working for it.

This game only gives me nightmares. I am so glad that I quit a few months ago. And the main reason why its because I made a 4-7 month break and tried to come back to the game just to notice that every item i farmed and spent time on are completely expired and worth nothing. In other words I was just a character who finished story line. That made me really mad. I tried to play for a while to give it a chance but yet again I was struggling to farm dungeons and doing faction quests only to get bullied. And the last thing that driven me out was valentines day event. After that moment i realized that this game is pretty much not free to play. You have to dedicate your whole life in order to get gear and reach that state when you can at least do something and have fun. The only thing what was good in bns is the story line. Probably the best i have seen in mmo rpg. Overall i regret playing this game and wouldnt recommend it for anyone unless for people who like wasting their money and their lifetime.

The story is doable tho, just don't expect to ever join the raids or end game. Oh, also prices for wallet warriors are also pretty insane, starting with opening the locked inventory slots for the price of 100€

Seems I hopped on this game too late. Used to play tons of Tera but this game has exactly the same playerbase community as most of them are jaded and invested too much time into the game. It is not beginner friendly and becomes a task to find people willing to run dungeons without them leaving. I dont mind the p2w part, the game needs to make money sure I could care less but my biggest concern is that theres nothing good being new. Clams dont recruite unless you are decked out or know a pal. Looks like I'll just stick around short term and move on. What a shame as the gameplay is fun.

Best time to play this game was when it is at 45 caps, and the new western players don't even experience that. skill? nah, evade? block? nah, when you have enough stat you can just stand there in front of the boss and press keys. if you don't have ap you're not good enough for our team, period.

Thanks for your honest opinion on the game, NCSoft is not perfect when it comes to handling the game but to be honest there are FAR worse MMOs out there that make this one look like the angel of the demonic pit. While the game may have its negatives, the content and combat is what keeps this game afloat and worth at least a bit of our time. The best part though is that it's completely free to play; so one can pop in, have a go at the game for a bit and decide from there. No need to force play, just see for yourself. If you end up not liking the game, you lose nothing. Aside from maybe a few gigs of download but that's about it really. And as Evil said, we have a big family of BnS players in his discord server for both NA and EU. Why not hop on and ask us ANYTHING about the game. We won't sugar coat our opinions, we WILL admit and tell the wrongs of the game but we will also mention the good stuff! \o/

Nope, not only Jinsoyun server... We have 2 more and they have almost the same ammount of players ... Jinsoyun = Brit. server (GR)... = German server (FR)... = French server and most of the top lvl players are extremely friendly especially on (GR) server!

My dumb ass decided to believe the hype and became a founder I played less than a week and uninstalled right away. Graphics and character design are awesome and the gliding is the best I ever played. But that's it crafting, story, quests, and just the fun factor is terrible. The biggest blow for me is that every class has the exact same story no class specific story, and the same wow boring quests kill x amount mobs come back collect these item drops rinse and repeat.

just got my first character to 55 and finished the story and 3 orange quests up to the raids. I'm sure the story is good but the story from lvl 50 when you can level to 55 and finishing it of was an effort in tedious bullshit. You go from hubbing your quests to a linear story that has you jumping all over the place, doing token fights, escorts and tons of other bullshit mechanics that are placed in the worst possible place leveling wise as that close to cap, no one wants to watch npc's talk to each other for what seemed like cumulitive hours. I am impressed with the game itself graphic and voice acting and combat etc etc. but that story is a major obstacle to push through

to bad the story is simply crap. I mean with that that it's pretty much cliche and to static. After getting to around chapter 6 you will try to skip the other chapters asap because it so monotome in what you need to do. If they put some more effort in it for example a choice system or something different it wouldve been a lot better. Most players just can't get into the story because they feel no connection towards theyr character. You are REQUIRED to follow the story over and over when making new characters so choose wisely which character you want to lvl up.

Their community is critical, but in a constructive way that demonstrates that they really care about the game they play. Ours just flames the game and the publishers without saying anything of value. I honestly, genuinely believe that at it's core, BnS is a better game than 14: much better combat, meaningful gear progression, worthwhile events, more rewarding and enjoyable daily and weekly quests, and on and on. So where does this community attitude come from? Is it a f2p thing? I think it might be. In the end though, BnS does well for itself in spite of the face the community puts on, so I guess ultimately the community isn't that much of an issue either.

if u put alot of money into trove, which is every 3months , u can get max gear in no time.But that´s only the case for several thousand euros. If u just pay a few euros, let´s say 100 then u don´t rly get anything from it, maybe a little headstart..If u pay nothing it´ll take quite some time to have max gear.I´m playing actively since april last year, and I´m not rly max gear ,but I´m able to run the latest raid.It depends heavily on whether u find a good clan or not. In my case for example I had a good group for the first raid(bt) so I did get that equip very fast and I had to pay for nothing, but I couldnt find a good group for the 2nd raid(vt) so I had to go in progress raid for a long time and couldnt get my items ,which is rly bad because as of vt u need to run it as often as u can to get ur items to upgrade the weapon.so I could have alrdy had a max aransu weapon instead of my +5 . as of now it would take me several months to get the max weapon, becaue running the 4th vt boss is the only way to get those items.

If you're a new player DON'T start the game right now. Gold gain is worse and mats are hard to get unless you get into clans who run dungeons with you. NCsoft checks how much money they make in the current state of the game. If it works out gold gain will stay the same and they continue to cater to people who regularly swipe their mastercards. Sad but true. Few patches ago gold gain was OK but now NCsoft fuked up some of their systems so it's best to wait before you join. Definitely stay away from this game right now.

But realistically coming from story comolete, getting free set of lucent accessories and the fact that solak is comparable to pinnacle as far as crap gear goes. That list becomes drastically reduced.
