Just realised how awesome the shot is at 4:57. It reminds me of the scene in Paris, Texas, when he's talking to her through the glass, and he sees the reflection of his face in hers. That reflection of him right behind her says so much visually!

This movie dared to take the biggest, most engaging mystery in fiction: ”Is Deckard a replicant?” And it presents two answers; Yes, or No. But then it present another answer. ”It doesn’t matter.” It doesn’t matter whether Deckard is a replicant. Because as Deckard answers when K asks him if his dog is ”real”; ”I don’t know. Ask him.”

I really loved this movie, my wife too. Even though people were saying bad things about it. They weren’t really looking at the deeper meaning of it all and it shows.

I remember watching this in theaters when I was like 14 and I was so confused when I watch it so going back and watching this now makes me realize how great this movie is and the deeper meaning of it. I’m glad you made a video on it as it’s not talked about too much and I think it’s good it’s getting some recognition. You did a fantastic job on video and thank you for making such great content!

It is actually, it didn't just "didn't perform well at the box office", it litteraly flopped and except for the few fans of the movie that understood what it means to them and as a movie, it is underrated, because it should be appreciated, watched and talked about more (imo)

Thank you for this breakdown. This is definitely an underrated video on your channel. I saw this movie in theaters when I was 16, and I wasn’t able to fully process it. Maybe it was the fight with thinking the women characters were more than just pretty to me, maybe it was the fact I was with my family and they kept making disapproving grunts, but I was beyond confused and couldn’t focus through the whole thing. I was to re-watch it now and see what you did. My parents dismissed this movie as trash, but from your explanation and my memories affirming the scenes you mentioned, I think there *is* a lot more here.

It's not a good action movie. But what it is, is a brilliant psychological thriller and tradgey. There is a lot of silence in the film, and considering the length of the movie, not that much dialogue. But the silence says so much and is used so brilliantly. I would definitely watch thisnone first, then go back and watch the original blade runner. As with the first film you really have to be in the right headspace to see what the movie is trying to do/say. Enjoy

That was amazing. I feel like I now know why the movie somehow resonated and stuck with me even though I really didn't get the movie the first time around. I guess that's what it's like when you can more or less consciously identify with the protagonist.

This makes me think of the agency of objects, as talked about in "Protagony One" by Innuendo Studios. Further still, the definition of humanity as "Memories Interlinked" has a perfect foil in the plot of Arcane. We seem to be Products, not People, caught in Systems of Exploitation that remove our Humanity & take our lives but reached this point as a natural consequence of our combined sociological gestalt. So, are our combined endeavors of failures & successes what makes us Human?

It was rated pretty well, actually, if you look at the aggregate review sights. And I think you might be overlooking how many times viewers have already seen Pinocchio themes such as in the original Blade Runner and many other films since, such as Ghost in the Shell and A.I. and in shows like Star Trek with the character Data and in games like Mass Effect with the character Legion. It really is kind of a trope now. Not to say tropes are bad. I just listed some of favorite media.

ummm... you do use math to prove its real. We call it "proofs" You can actually use math to prove math.... 1:37

You can use proofs to prove that a equation will come to a logically outcome. Mathematics is simply our couscousness trying to make sense of the way the physical newtonion world works. As well as helping our minds to explain the quantum. Which in its nature is abstract. But you can't prove the base existence of mathematics with itself. So maybe I wasn't being specific enough. Much in the same way that we can't explain the existence of light with light, we have to have a contrasting thing outside of light to prove its existence. Dark and shadow. Hope that clears that up

@@AFlyingWalrus I do understand what your are trying to convey. I believe we are looking at it from different perspectives. I just see it from a physics point of view vs philosopher's point of view. A philosopher would say that nothing can be proven real, yet someone trained in physics would say that it is real until proven otherwise. Every day we are developing methods that can be replicated by anyone and the same conclusions will be reached 100% of the time. for example, Light. If there was no dark, we would still know light. why? Because our detectors would see particles travelling at the speed of light from a source that is identifiable, measurable, and repeatable. if there was no dark then we might not call these particles "light" but still, they are there. Every day we are learning more and more and discovering that the impossible is indeed possible and understandable. Yet a philosopher would say that we can never really understand. My answer to that is..... Give us time, and the mysteries will not be mysterious anymore. I appreciate your reply and your work.
