Can't remember whether it's northern or southern China but, there are places you can order either bees or wasps (can't remember which) at a restaurant and pretty sure you get roasted nuts with it It's in either in the documentary Conquering Northern China or Conquering Southern China where the hosts were filmed at a restaurant in a place the vast majority of foreign tourists would never know about
