Robin’s voice was unique. Barry has always been my favorite but there’s no way anyone can deny that Robin’s voice is very worthy of praise. I often thought that it was the fact that all three had exceptional voices and that they were brothers just put them on a different level. The surprising thing is that though Barry and Robin’s voices were very different when they sing together they sounded like one voice and when Maurice joined in it turned into Harmony Heaven. Thanks for the great reaction.

Robin has the most amazing voice and the one that makes me cry. For more amazing Robin, please react to And the Sun will Shine ( melbourne 1974 live video), I Can't see Nobody, & Rings around the moon. He sang lead in "Massachusetts" and "I Started a Joke" but those have been reacted to a lot already. He shares the lead quite a bit too like in "Bodyguard" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "How do you mend a Broken Heart". Robin did a few solo albums and one of my favorite solo videos of his is "How Old Are You"😂, along with "Juliet." Barry and Robin were very competitive. They both sang beautifully. "Morning of my life" is one of the prettiest lyrically and singing by Barry. It is about being a child. "Alone" is amazing and the lead is sung by Barry. I love this song though. Country Lanes is a hidden gem in the Main Course album.

Yes, there are Bee Gees aficionados out there. The sad part of being a Bee Gees fan was that - #1 they were blacklisted because people associated them with disco and disco became overexposed, very commercialized and even tacky. It was also popular in black and gay clubs. That was not a good thing in the 70's. As a result they couldn't get any of their songs played after that era, especially in the US, which is a "Tragedy". No other group was treated that way. Even their SNF LP, the biggest movie soundtrack in history at the time, was totally snubbed for an Oscar....but it did open the door for pop music to be included for Academy Awards later. They said they were singing R&B and didn't even know what disco was. Robin said you can dance to a lot of music but that doesn't make it disco. - #2 - Because disco was so hot for a while many people only knew Barry's voice. The twins, Robin mainly and to a lesser degree Mo, were cowriters for their songs and Maurice was the amazing musician who could play anything you threw at him and was their arranger, musical conductor and buffer between Barry and Robin who often locked horns. He found the perfect chords although none of them could read music. The twins were unfairly relegated by the public as a back up band. Barry was a great singer and Mo had a great voice too but IMO Robin's was totally unique and as instantly recognizable as Barry's but neither twin got the recognition they deserved as equal and valuable partners. With all of the reactions, especially since COVID, some folks like you are discovering the treasures that the twins were. Even now with Barry being the only survivor, most restrict themselves to him. So sad that Rob and Mo aren't around to know how respected they deservedly have become. Robin was called "The Songbird". On his gravestone it is written "My songbird has flown".

This song is my absolute favorite with Robin on lead. There is ofcourse his signature song "I Started A Joke" or one of the later songs he did "Rings Around The Moon" and many more but this one is just haunting.

This is a beautiful song and I don't think Robin has ever sounded better. Thank you for reacting to it. Massachussetts, Gotta Get a Message to You, Holiday, I Can't See Nobody and I Started a Joke are all great songs featuring Robin from the 60s. Barry and Robin tended to share lead vocals then.

@@BladeRunnermedia - Critics also called him "The Pavarotti of Pop" and said he could have been an opera singer but he refused training saying it would no longer be him. Main Course was a major turning point from their earlier style and an amazing LP.

These boys didn't know how to make a bad song....... in all the 1000 + songs they wrote they didn't have a really bad song...... Barry started when he was all of 8 years old and is still at it today......he got a best songwriting award when he was 17 back in Australia...... his brothers soon followed suit and kept at it till the end.......

The songbird Robin! Hey, on the same album you can find a song, called 'Songbird', but don't be surprised, Barry sings lead on it. Maybe he wrote the lyrics to Robin? If one thing is clear, both of them are on the same high level. Since 1967, when I first recognized Bee Gees (I'm born 1954), I'm to call a die hard fan and it's been such a pleasure for me, listening to their different voice abilities, Maurice included also! A phantastic roller-coaster ride over the decades bringin' so many surprises.

May I please request "Black Diamond", a lead by Robin when only a teenager. The lyrics are unusual because it was part of a concept album about a shipwrecked sailor. Magnificent vocal. Another fun song is Juliet (live in Berlin 1991) one of his solo songs. A song he wrote solo at 15 "I am the world" is also amazing.
