How can anyone fight that? But boy, he never realized how difficult it would be to win over Shaoshang’s heart. This is a beautiful drama, the best I’ve seen. An EPIC love story. We’re all so lucky this drama exists.

Honestly folks besides the arrowing removing scene, and the empress's bday and the day after fiasco, this is my other favorite scene. General Ling claims his life mate and heaven, hell, the royals, nor in laws will stop him. He is hell bound to grab her and never let go. Niao Niao is stunned because she's never known this type of love before and it's frightening for her but she's willing to gamble on him as he is the only one who believes in her and honestly is devoted to her. It's a tear jerker and deserves a box of kleenex and a bowl of popcirn to watch. I'm in awe every time i see it. The fact that the royals actually like her for just being her and that Ling Buyi is so in love with her is enough for them to welcome her. The royal couple are giddy to see Ling Buyi so besotted and happy for once. He is normally annoyed with fenales so this girl is special. The writers, cast, and crew should be congratulated. Niao Niao is a role model for not being weak but silently strong. She is cunning, smart, brave, quiet, loving, and so much more. There needs to ve a part 2 to show this whole family with their kids and everyone in battle armor. Niao Niao is just like Mulan. Breaking stereotypes and the mold that they try to put her in. Kudos for a great role model for women. She is a valkyre in chinese armor!

@jaybizman8594 I honestly stand by my comment. Zao Lusi did a wonderful job. I'd this role, and so did Wu Li. It's breathtaking to see them together and how they interact with each other. Niao Niao is just a caterpillar waiting to become that iron butterfly she was meant to be. She is underappreciated and underestimated by everyone except the royals and General Ling. They are waiting with baited breath to see her emerge as the bada$$. she was meant to be. They know she comes from excellent stock and has a warrior heart. She was forged in fire and steel, and it's a joy to see her fighting with her heart and hands. She is the best of the best, and Ling Buyi's heart and soul are bought and held in her hands. I'm glad this character exists to remind us that no matter how low we feel in our lives, we too can reach these heights and be better for ourselves and the world will never be the same.

Her mother was horrible and if I did not see the actress in other work I would not like this actress based on this. A mother who never showed this child affection from the day she was born has not right to belittle her the way she did and when Naio Naio finally stood up for herself and left the house I was so happy. People who never met her fell in love with her and embraced her from the moment they met her and that is why she was so much better off with the Empress. Her mother was a failure to do this in front of people who has already scorned her daughter. Her father was reluctant to do this but did, I could forgive him, because he has shown her love but her mother no. The Emperor and Empress saw so much more in her in 5 seconds, where her mother saw nothing but a problem to be solved. If you know your child was being abused for the last 15 years you would think she would embrace that child and hold tight not her mother. She chose to give that to Yang Yang not her daughter and to bear witness to that made Naio more withdrawn and defensive against her mother.
