Carpooling is not illegal... What's wrong in dividing petrol's cost equally?? if someone is traveling alone or with one person and his car's backseat is empty, why he cannot travel with someone else(an unknown)who is going same way same destination?? Its totally eco friendly and budget friendly for both car owner and traveller ...Buses do not travel 24*7 and even lets say they do, even then many people travel without seat throughout their journey which totally makes a person tired and exhausted..and 2nd option is taxi..well we all know how taxi drivers ask for 10x 20x rates than a bus ticket.. sometimes even they manipulate people that this was the last bus and the rate is fixed so hurry up there are many passengers here...And there's one more case also...where they say you are booking whole taxi alone for yourself and i may have to even return without passenger in my taxi. Now u tell me is this fair now? Charging 4000-5000 from passenger for a 200 bus ticket price!!!?? How is this my headache?? i only need 1 seat..is this a crime if i can't afford a taxi and i am looking for a cheaper alternative?? .. And that is why and how carpooling apps must be legal in india and should be there for aam janta.. Govt should promote carpooling as it will save petrol and there will be less traffic if more people travel like this. Also app should only allow person having verified govt. id,mail, number, photo id etc. to publish a ride and same for traveller also same to book a ride. I request govt officials to make sure app runs safely and not ban such great app with such a great idea with problem solving solution.

Stupid rules, this concept is used across the world. Why it has to do with insurance? Taxes are already so much on the oil and everything else. The government can't provide good transport and want to restrict such mode of transportation too. Not good.

According to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (MVA), an act about those who make money from transporting passengers. Carpooling in Blablacar is done in a way to share expenses and not make any profit. Therefore, it is completely legal when the recommended price on the app are being followed by the members. Many people , even the police don't have enough awareness about this causing innocent people to pay fine for no reason. I understand that it is creating a competition for the taxi but as a citizen I appreciate the different ways I can travel and also save money. I wish this channel could have done their research well disappointed to see how blindly this lack of awareness has been promoted.
