@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Creating rain is surprising simple, but layering in other effects will definitely help sell your atmosphere.
@GargoylesAtWork4 жыл бұрын
Hey, nice one! Always cool to see some particles being used :) I would give the footage a bit of a bluish overcast just to sell the effect (but I get it, thats beyond what this tutorial was about)
@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
Gargoyles At Work i added a haze the first few times and it definitely helps sell the effect, but left it out in the final due to time. I also left out the size variance and layering another layer of rain and using a ground mask. I was actually trying to get this down to 5 minutes, but apparently that was unrealistic unless i just listed off the settings i used and didn’t explain anything. So this is the final compromise.
@GargoylesAtWork4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, makes sense. Sometimes the comps are just never ending, I can keep adding stuff if I have no time restrictions. Heh.

If i Keyframe the ANgle of my Polygon it doesent chanmger direction by time - it just stays in the angle like at frame 0 for the whole animation... how to make the rain come from one to the other side?... im sad right now :/ But until here it was a very nice tutorial
@CBSuper2 жыл бұрын
Keyframe the angle of the particles.
@kidkind4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video, CB. Is there anyway to set particles to move along certain curved path instead of moving along straight direction?
@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
So particles are born from an emitter. You can move that emitter around and the particles will follow that path. I'm working on a more indepth video on Particles, but it's a little ways out.
@kidkind4 жыл бұрын
@@CBSuper does this mean I need to use multiple pemitters to stack and form a specifically curved path with continuously moving particles following the entire curve?
@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
Nah, use the Pspawn tool between the Emitter and the Particle Renderer, it will be your friend on this project. That will make each particle along the path become it's own emitter that can spawn it's own particles.

@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
You bet! Also check out some of the motion graphics tools I made for DaVinci, they are free to download and use in any of your projects.
@benjamincorteslyon67774 жыл бұрын
@@CBSuper CB Super thanks. Other day I tried to make a experiment. I worked and tried to make the same complex animation in DR and AE but I couldn't with DR. I don't know so much about Fusion as After Effects but I think that AE is much more friendly with Motion Graphics than DR Fusion. What do you think? Regards!
@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
@@benjamincorteslyon6777 Absolutely, when I made the switch to Fusion, I was still heavily versed with After Effects and it was a pretty odd transition. I used to use Nuke, which is also a node-based compositor, but I never used it for Mograph stuff. AE is very mograph friendly and I wish Fusion would add all the things I love about AE, but there are lots of workarounds for what we don't have. My biggest compliant is actually not having support for Adobe Illustrator files, but as long as your designer saves out a .SVG file, you can get around it. But even so, it's still not as easy as the AI file would be to animate (in my opinion). I also really miss some of the AE plugins like Saber and Element 3d. I used those plugins on almost every other project. I've been trying to build my own Saber-ish macro and although it has led to the creation of several other interesting tools, I'm still quite a ways away from getting saber down. If you have the Studio version of DaVinci, you can use the Krokodove plugin to get a 3d mesh from vectors, but it's a tough workaround for Free version users. It drives me nuts that DaVinci lacks an Auto-trace vector system like AE's auto trace (seriously, I need it). I spend a lot of time messing around in DaVinci to bridge the gap with AE, but to be honest, when I need one of those functions, I will usually just jump back over to AE. I really hope that Fusion continues to add in features like they have been recently. But when I think about how this program is free and anyone can use it...it's still kinda crazy. It's really a pipe dream that I never thought I would have seen. I've spent so much money on Adobe programs over the past 15 years or so...so for Davinci to come along and offer a very competitive alternative that is free, well lets just say it was enough for me to switch and start a KZbin channel..lol. But to make a long story longer, yes, I'll work on putting out more Mograph content.
@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
Also, for simple projects, I think AE is still quicker and easier, but for larger more complex projects, you can't beat the node based workflow. I find its much easier to work omni-directionally and being able to avoid pre-comps is pretty powerful in my opinion.

I own studio version. Guess these days there are too many watchers on youtube on not enough users who use fusion. Keep up the good work. You deserve more view.

Oh yeah, lots of watchers staying home these days. I think there has definitely been an increase of KZbin activity, but doubt it will impact the Davinci/Fusion arena too much.

Man, ya this bit is easy. Thanks. But I can't seem to find a tutorial that shows you how to add rain drops to the ground planes. I need splashes in some areas. They don't need to match the rain falling at all, I just need random splashes. Is there a tutorial on that? Perhaps you could do another one? :) Thanks again.

Using stock footage of rain and mapping it to your footage's ground plane would give the best result.

Did you connect the rain effect to the Media Out node in the Fusion Page? Also, is it on a fusion composition, on the clip directly, or on an adjustment layer?
@iEkirTs3 жыл бұрын
Yes i connected the rain effect in media out but I want to say here on the fusion page it shows me "media in" and "media output" and I deleted the "media in" so I make it a different timeline and try to connect with first timeline but dosen't render together.

One thing, tho, When I started the process, it shows media in and media out. It doesn't show only media out like yours..
@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
With the media in plugged into the Media out node, all you need to do is take the output (grey box on the bottom) of the Speedlines tool, and drop it onto the Output of the Media In node. This will merge the tool ontop of your footage. Its already on a transparent background so there shouldn't be any black bg.

@CBSuper4 жыл бұрын
Great idea! I was actually thinking about expanding upon this concept and shooting some water mist through an empty fish tank or something. To do this procedurally, I think it can probably be done with some type of Particle system and a bitmap sprite, but what exactly, I'm not sure yet. I'll have to play around with that one. I was thinking of maybe adding the heatwave tool as sort of a blur/distortion, but it may be easier to just create a new Water Distortion tool since it may need a bit more refraction.
