KaizerDerp never saw Ronnie live with Sabbath. I saw him with his band with V.Campbell in 84 for what was the last in line tour at the time. Was awesome and they did play his Sabbath material and a few rainbow numbers also if I recall correctly. The man on the silver mountain for sure.👍

I met Ronnie after a show. Once the show was over he told the guard to let those guys in who were waiting behind the fence. Six of us went in and sat there and ate and drank with he and his band. The first thing he said was, if you all need any photos or autographs just let me know. If you have any questions about anything ask me. I think we were stunned after watching so many bands run and hide from their fans. We stayed probably an hour or so. It was so great to talk with the legend and the concert he put on was probably the best I’d ever seen.

Dio had said he once witnessed Ritchie Blackmore , during his time as singer in Rainbow . Walk past all his fans ,who waited in the cold .. for him . and get in his ride and drive away . He said it was one of the most cruel things he ever saw . And swore he was never going to be like that with his fans .

Always telling people to be good to eachother, to help others, writing songs to help the lost and lonely those in a bad situation in life to stay positive, to follow your dreams, believe in yourself, far to much to say to keep it all in time... Nothing wise 🦉🤘 about that at all. All his " good works" are as filthy rags before the Lord God Jesus. Like everyone on the planet, past, present, future. I met RJDio briefly in Hollywood in the late 80s. I lived right off Hollywood Bl. and was walking home and cut through the rear parking lot of a gourmet market on the corner of my street and walked right up to him heading to his car. I had really long hair so hopefully he knew I was one of his fans. Anyway, I was so star-struck that all could muster was a stunned "you're Ronnie James Dio!"... he graciously smiled and said "yes I am". I was in shock and we were walking in cross-paths, so there was no time to say or ask anything else, but it's a memory I'll always cherish nonetheless. - Dio is coincidentally my favorite male singer of all time, regardless of genre so I feel really blessed to have had even that brief chance encounter.

Great times, great albums. Bummer I just found out yesterday that RJD was a no spine greedy bastard almost at par with the Osbournes. He had given his word to the bandmates that they'd get some credit and money they deserve from creating the music, but only after the second album. When Vivian Campbell reminded him of the promise for the 3rd album RJD kicked him out of the band. Vivian would've made million$ had his name been credited as should on the first albums which he co-wrote along with performing. If someone so unfairly uses others like that, it is a clear sign of a severe personality disorder. There is no excuse. None.

sometimes he lies... b/c Tony and Geezer are SUPER-HONEST (as is Ozzy and Bill Ward).... and none of them have the ego that Dio does. (EX: You can tell Dio is always lying about the mixing of Live Evil.) (EX: when he uses the old trick of the HALF-truth: "i've NEVER touched a fader!" UH, yeah... but the band TELLS the engineer to raise or lower, during a mix, so that's a FALSE thing to tell the public.)

ALSO, keep in mind RJD is a SMALL guy. THAT MEANS "DICTATOR" who has all sorts of EGO problems. (The dudes in Black Sabbath had no trouble getting girls etc, so NO EGOS.) The very fact that he's SMALL (women don't like that) in this terrible world... AND it took him 30 years to find success in the biz... ALSO gave him some messed-up bitterness etc.

His interviews are always full of insight and wisdom and pure genius. People don't know that besides being a GREAT singer with the most unique voice in the world, the man's I.Q. was through the fucking roof. He could, literally, debate any religious person, politician, reporter, critic, etc and come out on top. You just couldn't grasp the full scale of this man's thought processes. His library at his mansion was full of all the literary classics and he read daily. He is missed. I'm 46, in 1983,1984 and 1985 any concert close to me I went. I AM AND ALWAYS WILL BE A RJD Fan. Love Dio. Miss his existence. He, 4 most of my life, has been motivation, hope, reason, everything 2 live 4. Biggest fan of the single greatest singer, songwriter, frontman, performer, band, persona, guy, man & hero ever, straight up, hands down, w/o any doubt. The fucking greatest. God bless him & may he forever be remembered, respected, honored, loved, heard, talked about, admired, looked 4 & 2 & may he rest in peace. Dio forever...grimm

I've listened to quite a few interviews with Dio and one the things that have always drawn my attention is that he never spoke bullshit, there was always something interesting, something insightful in whatever he said. Miss him so bad. Best singer ever; and I'm not saying 'best heavy metal singer ever,' that goes without saying, I'm saying 'best singer,' period. It's impossible to find someone that can be so flawlessly perfect technically speaking, so inspirational in lyrics, and that can convey so many differently things when it comes to intensity and emotions. I may well die 100 years old, and yet there will be no one who can even equal RJD. Bless him!!

As a Vocalist... DIO Is a Singer and He Absolutely Covers Every Base Technically and His Own Tequnique... He also Knows to Throw it ALL OUT THE WINDOW.... Don't Think about any of it... Just Become The Song.. Pour Your Heart Out, Bare Your Soul .... Dio's Singing and Music Affected and Inspired Many People in Countless Ways.. Whether it be Inspiring Singers and Musicians to Provoking Thought and Philosophy to Being Interpreted in Countless Ways that have Even Changed Peoples Lives by Saying the Right thing at the Right time and a Person so Far Down or in a Situation Finding Strength in the Music to Make A Change... In Anycase Ronnie James DIO KICKS ASS !

I always thought Dio's last two records were his absolute best. Killing The Dragon and Master Of The Moon. All his music was amazing though. I would say one of his finest albums was Lock Up The Wolves. Love his outlook on animals because that's how I feel as well. Animals are better than people.
