Corum is already one of the greatest RBs in Michigan history. This season he has a chance to cement that legacy and depending on how things turn out, he has a chance to be THE best. Coming back for his senior season essentially bought him a lifetime of goodwill from the fan base. I can't speak about backs from before 1990, but the best I've watched are Tyrone Wheatley, Tim Biakabatuka, Anthony Thomas and Mike Hart. Though I'll also give a shout out to Chris Perry for his beast of a 2003 season. Among those 4, Tyrone Wheatley was by far the most physically gifted and when healthy and at his best, is definitely the best of the group. Biakabatuka was overshadowed by Wheatley but we all know what he can do. Even after Haskins and Edwards has memorable rushing days against OSU, Biakabatuka's game in '95 is still the greatest single performance against Ohio State, especially since it came against Eddie George and the entire pregame and early broadcast Musberger was all over his jock. Thomas didn't have the physical traits of either Wheatley or Biakabatuka but he ran angry and was a great back for 4 years. I remember when he was a freshman in '97 Wonder why they didn't give him more carries. Hart is obviously a legend simply because he is the all time leading rusher. When I think of Michigan RBs who always "fall forward", Hart comes to mind. I think Corum stacks up very well against Thomas and Hart. Corum can do essentially everything Hart did, except he does it better. He has much better speed and lateral agility. Thomas was really just a one cut back; outside of size, Hart stacks up well against him too. Biakabatuka and Wheatley is a harder comparison. Wheatley was such an athletic freak who had every physical traits you could want. Tim was similar, except he didn't have that breakaway speed. Out of them all, I think Corum has the best lateral agility and balance. He falls forward like Hart and has above average but not elite break away speed. He has great vision and burst. If he can stay healthy and produce close to last year, he makes the Rushmore of Michigan RBs.

Is Hart still the Wolverines RB coach? I Played against Mike Hart in high school loved watching him play on Saturday for the Wolverines and if I’m not mistaken he got a Superbowl ring with the Colts. You guys have had some great runners.

Blake the Great! I hope he has an excellent season and stays healthy. He's a credit to the U of M and a fine young man as well as great football player! Last year, he carried the team in a couple of games in which the offense was overall flat. Had it not been for Blake - well we would have lost. He would have won the Heisman if he didn't get injured. Even when he did, he gave it his best effort to try and play with a serious injury. This is what makes Blake special! I have been a season ticket holder for 40 years and hold two graduate degrees from M. I will be in the Big House for the opener. Go Blue!

@@timcarter817 Hey man I really appreciate it for real and yea man of course, I try to reply to everyone I can but it can be tricky sometimes. And yea for sure it’s really a grind, I burned my self out during draft month, cause I continuously kept editing, really no breaks. So I decided to come up with a set schedule and then after that time hits I’m done for the day. That way I don’t burn myself out again.

I hope he can stay healthy and play in the O$U game this year. He deserves his chance to run up big yardage on that soft Buckeye defense like Edwards and Haskins did.

Mike Hart "was" my favorite RB ever at UM because he had great technique + the best balance and vision I've ever seen in a RB (pro or college). This let him get the max possible yards on every single play without "cheating", aka, "just bounce outside and explode with speed every snap". Hart WAS fast, but not explosive fast, like a Reggie Bush. ...Corum has the same skills, but WITH that explosive punch. He's my guy now. -to date myself, I remember Tony Boles before Wheatley

idk if its just me, but he seemed like his top end speed was way faster during his first two years compared to what it is now.... wondering if he can ever get back to that level
@Chinch3 Жыл бұрын
He put on a bunch of muscle and lost some top end speed in favor of being able to take more hits/break tackles more.
@misterceo2168 Жыл бұрын
He definitely lost some speed due to bulking up. Only being 5’9 you gotta be yoked up to be able to bounce off hits, he’s still a high 4.4 speed back though.
