The thing is, the timing of Kjersti's video presenting a many-years-old interview is strange, so I can see why they would take issue. It's... weird, right? And the fact that it "happened" to snowball into releasing an interview with her boyfriend that _also_ made Blake Lively look bad... I've worked in the entertainment industry on the business side in LA years ago. It is highly unlikely that Justin Baldoni or his team instituted a smear campaign against Blake Lively. No producer, director, or studio would do anything like this after 4 years of working on a film as it would destroy the success and, most importantly, the profits of the movie. He is a business owner and has investors and a major studio to not only pay back, but that also expect massive profits from this movie. Do people actually believe that Baldoni and his team would target the LEAD actress in his OWN film and do a smear campaign against them during the promotion, marketing, and release of the movie or while it was in theaters and risk losing millions of profits after 4 years of working on this movie???? If anything, a planned smear campaign would harm Baldoni's film and his movie at the box office and I believe as a business owner he has to know this. The most a producer or director would do is never work with that person again or just fire them early on. But to actively do it during marketing and release of the film is highly unlikely to happen, or at least that Baldoni would actually authorize a pr team to do this. If his movie bombed, he would probably never get another investor or major studio to back him on future projects. Also if word got back to Sony or his investors that he implemented a "smear campaign" against the lead actress and it actually affected box office sales not only would he be blacklisted but also investors would pull money from his company and he could get sued for breach of contract by the investors and Sony for how he handle the promotion. Baldoni is the business owner of his own studio and a director, and the entertainment industry is a FOR-PROFIT industry. He's not going to destroy his own company like this. If he did (which I don't believe he did), he would be insane or an incredibly stupid businessman.

@9395gb16 күн бұрын
@user-ps8lk2tg5s thanks. Because I worked on the business side, I know a studio, director or producer is not going to undermine their own movie during the promotional or release phase. A smear campaign of this magnitude sounds like a fantasy or just a conspiracy theory. I could be wrong, but this is the first time I've seen something like this.

Why can't both be true, Lively could be difficult and tone deaf but also the Baldoni harassment happened. People are so quick to judge and label one an angel and the other a devil in a story when life isn't black and white. I wouldn't downplay them as a power couple. Ryan has Deadpool, a hugely popular franchise plus has investments in multiple sectors. He's literally a billionaire bc of his businesses... so sure, Blake hasn't had huge roles, but she is part of a power couple and can abuse her power
@charlespayne170716 күн бұрын
What made me skeptical of Blake Lively's accusations was the power imbalance. Being married to Ryan Reynolds gives Lively much more power and influence than Baldoni has. If Baldoni had done anything to offend Lively his career would be ruined and only a total fool would've realize this.

Exactly! He's worked in Hollywood a long time behind the scenes. I haven't heard of any other rumors before this. If he's going to sexually harass someone he's gonna start with Ryan Reynolds wife?!! And why did she wait until her bad press came out?
@amandamandamands15 күн бұрын
Yep when you hear that she decided her own wardrobe, got Ryan to do rewrites, created her own edit and managed to have that one released and Baldoni not allowed at the premier with Blake, people are kidding themselves when they she didn't have power because he was the director.
@bpxl53yewz2916 күн бұрын
Blake’s PR team must be really stupid or really evil. Do they really think she wasn’t responsible for her own bad press? The things she said in interviews and the public not liking that she promoted her beauty brands during DV film events. Because I don’t believe they are stupid, they must be evil to shift blame on him to try to paint her as a “victim”.
@StandAsYouAre16 күн бұрын
What I found interesting is Blake is using the excuse that the marketing she did was because Sony told them only to speak about how Lily and the fashion. Blake is a women who pretty much usurped Justin through the whole process of making the movie. She had the ability and the power to say ‘I want to also discuss the DV aspects of this movie during our promo tour’. She made an agreement with Justin that whoever’s cut of the movie tested better would be the one that gets released, Justin’s tested better yet Blake went to got her version released. Blake wanted it all her way and get all the credit, yet when it didn’t work out it wasn’t her fault and she wanted someone to blame.

@StandAsYouAre Exactly! She could've told Sony that the marketing plan was misguided, but she thought the plan would be helpful for her to push her drink mixer and hair products. If the marketing plan switched to a more serious tone she wouldn't have been able to push her products. Also, like you said, she was wielding so much power but couldn't request that Sony change the marketing plan.

Bullies like this do these things on a smaller scale constantly. Blake is probably shocked that this isn’t working for her and the public isn’t buying it. I bet these bullying tactics have worked for her for years. These things don’t just come out of the blue and this delusionally wrong and bold.

I swear, I never could stand Blake. So arrogant, so petulant, so fake, so narcissistic, so egocentric. How could people not see this before? I mean, how? Because she is beautiful on the outside? Is it all it takes to be liked?
@CaduJoeySon16 күн бұрын
Not that beautiful, she is a regular one with a lot of production but still not classy and a bad taste in fashion. When she began to promote her hairline the tone was very arrogant. In my industry, I don't know anyone who uses conditioner on their hair, so I immediately thought about who she thinks she is. I can not put a treatment every time I wash my hair because it would become heavy and oily. I would never purchase her products. Their problem is money, they are greedy and they will do anything to save their businesses even burying a nice person like Justin Baldoni

I read the “gossip girl” books in middle school, so I was excited when the show came out years later. I remember being immediately disappointed with Blake. Serena was supposed to be charming and magnetic, and Blake was aloof, whiny, and a bad actress with a very tiny emotional range. I feel you! Never been a fan.
@rivap.479116 күн бұрын
I never thought she was beautiful, either. Never understood the hype and often wondered if I was just not seeing something? Like, she is just average at best. Hollywood (plastic surgery, makeup, styling etc.) can make almost anyone look gorgeous but even then she's just okay. Not a natural beauty at all. When I think beautiful it's more like Angelina and the likes of her. Blake is just a product.

Honestly, I think Blake took the comment about her weight really personally when it was not at all then told it to Ryan In a very emotional way and he got defensive, I also do think some of the behavior by Justin was quite inappropriate. Like saying he can talk to her dead dad. I could understand why Ryan would be upset with him.

@@Junitunes How long you hold grudge toward someone cause the person say something upset you? Some people may let it go already and being professional. It's a job and let's finish it. Then part way. She get more control and spotlight toward the movie already. She should have solve this problem secretly with her husband and let's not work together again. Wish never cross path or something but the drama isn't end. The grudge you hold will drag your emotions down.

This! I watched a video yesterday from a woman who was a young intern around the time BL was promoting that traveling pants movie. At a studio while giving an interview, BL reported the intern to her boss as behaving like a "fan" towards BL. At the time she said she didn't even know who BL was. Their interaction was passing each other in a hallway. She was given quite a scolding and said she cried all the way home. BL started young with her awful behavior. I cannot forget the viciousness toward KF at that interview. It was shocking. This is why people still bring it up. KF did nothing to bring about that indecent behavior towards her.

BELIEVE ALL WOMEN assumes that women are infallible and incapable of causing offence, or that negative social intersctions only occur when women intersct wwith men and not when they intersct with each other, and that is just a ridiculous viewpoint which is outside the realm of reality.
