Wonderful interview and great insight into what some of his influences are. I jumped for joy when he talked about Donny Hathaway. He was a musical genius, and people to this day don't recognize his name. Kudos to Blake Mills for bringing him into the conversation

Blake is one of few which can approach close to Ry Ccoder slide sound he can really rip'it up. Part from that he's a wonderful songwriter and an amazing musician and producer. Great podcast guys 🥇

Great stuff. This is about the music, and I really relate to the Nina Simone track.

Surprised no mention of Ry Cooder who seems an obvious influence.

Cristi Cacciotti In other interviews he actually mention Ry, if you look for some f his tchat with others guitar shows he actually show his two Coodercaster

Yeah, honestly they moved past it due to that very obviousness, I think. He's discussed it elsewhere.

You can never hear him speak about Ry Cooder.

he copied Ry Cooder pickups configuration and the modified film projector amp as a guitar amp, he never talks about that. he is so talented, no need to try to hide what is obvious.

All this talk about bob, and hearing his reaction to blake playing him his bar band. seemed like bob was not exactly the coolest dude.
