I agree and no matter how big he got he never moved out of Oklahoma. He never forgot where he came from and always strived to give back to those who needed his help the most. His biggest legacies include being a father, a husband, a proud son, military supporter, a VERY patriotic American, and a champion for children with cancer who literally paid millions of dollars to help families stay together during difficult times and treatments. He will FOREVER be missed… ❤❤❤

The very first country CD I purchased was Toby Keiths How Do You Like Me Now. Many years later he is and will always be my all time favorite!!!! In December of 2000, I started 6 weeks of high dose radiation for a tumor which was and still is attached to my optic nerve and brain. Results were good, however I did loose the vision in my right eye (sound familiar?) as well as no periffial vision in my left eye (direct vision only), quite an adjustment I must say...Going through such treatment is a real trip. I don't remember alot of the 2 years following, but after that, I was unable to return to my job of many years, as the radiation hit something in my memory. During my recovery, country music brought me much peace and comfort. If I wasn't listening to the radio, I was blasting my favorite CDs (mostly country) and Toby was played more than any other. Unfortunately, I ended up unable to return to the work force, lost my home that I had planned to spend the rest of my life in and then took on the fight with the government. At that time I was 43 years young, ended up homeless, lived in my car, couch surfed, etc...eventually I had to quit driving also. In 2004, I once again found myself going through treatment for female related cancer and I finally won my disability case at age 55. What a ride. Next month I will be 67, and doing alright. Although I never dreamed I would end up in public housing (which is not my thing at all) but I AM thankful to have a roof over my head😇 It hit me in the gut and heart when I learned of Toby "Promotion" to the heavens. My heart goes out to his family and to all the artists who have released their music in his honor. I have followed all the buzz, and with many, can say Toby Keith will be greatly missed and never forgotten. His music always made me smile and always will. R.I.P. Toby, you have begun your next chapter. Keep all those with you now singing, and we know you are smiling down on all of us. You are missed daily, and will be forever in our hearts and souls. And again, you have through your music brought so much joy to myself and all who have shared in your journey. Until we meet again, ENJOY... Always, K💜😇

If someone is husky their whole life and then turn gaunt, that's never a good sign and once you know what you're seeing, it makes your heart break to see a person look that way.

@@djjazzyjeff1232 I lost a dear friend to cancer about a month ago. She was in a car wreck just after Labor Day, 2021. When she went to the hospital to be treated for the accident, that's when they discovered it. Who knows how long she had it before it was discovered. One interesting thing about that wreck? 6 months later, my dear mother passed away. My sister-in-law's sister Patti, has a magnet on her refrigerator that says, "We plan, God laughs. My mother told me the day before her sister passed away (they passed away a week apart, my aunt & mom), "We can't see around the corner, but Heavenly Father can". Ironic. Difficult, watching someone so dear to you waste away like that, but it had to be harder on her children & grandchildren.

Why do we feel so sorry for ourselves when someone so dear to us passes away? Could it be because they were a part of us, and we were a part of them? 100% true. I'm sure there's other reasons, as well. I agree w/you. Toby cared more about his family & friends, the people he cared about & loved the most. A lot more.
