If you give Westbrook the props for the season then you have to blame him for their horrendous showing in the playoffs. Instead he shot a horrible percentage and dribbled out every shot clock to airball from deep

The Spud of Ages he can't teach them how to shoot. I think everyone is missing that huge disadvantage. They simply can't shoot or space the floor. He makes mistakes because he feels he has to make a play he sometimes can't. Why? Because the other guys can't put the ball in the basket and Stretch he the floor from 3. Harden made the same types of mistakes before he got mike D and the snipers
@user-yh3cy8tj1d7 жыл бұрын
Partly true, partly not true. He did a lot to get them there, and in all those games, he put them in position to win just like the regular season, and just like the regular season they leaned on Russ to do everything. In the regular season he lead the league in 4th quarter points, in the playoffs he fell short. Now whether it was because of fatigue, or whatever have you, either way they're going home and he has to be held largely responsible because he's the leader, but none of his teammates should leave without blame.

When you are playing hero ball then go to the bench....your team is going to be cold. People keep saying Russ has no help. Cool. But his team doesn't have a helpful PG either. Stop trying to cover up for him. Acknowledge the trip-dub, acknowledge his shortcomings too.
@brandonb.53047 жыл бұрын
Most guys are rhythm shooters. They need touches and shots to get going. Westbrook having the ball in his hands 90% of the time doesn't allow his teammates to find their shots. It's a ridiculous argument from Russ fanboys that he has absolutely no help. We saw in the last two games that when Westbrook got his teammates involved early, guys hit shots and played well. The obvious fault here is when Westbrook freezes out his teammates, which seems to be by design. So the blame has to be on the Thunder organization for allowing and promoting this one-man-centric offense. Because the offense is designed exclusively around 1 player, the rest of the Thunder players don't know what to do on offense when the guy who handles the ball 90% of the time isn't out there.

oh no trust me I was, yes he took some poor shots that he maybe shouldn't have, but only plays defense to get rebounds? how does his play make his team worse?, if you watched the games there were a lot of times where he would pass the ball and his teammates would not take the shot, Roberson in particular, is like he is scared of the ball, in game 2 the thunder had a 14 pt. lead at the end of the 1st, Russ goes to bench they almost lose that lead, then the same game they had a 12 pt. lead at the end of the 3rd and the lead drops down to 3 in 90 seconds!!! 90!!!, if it wasn't for him the sixers would probably have ended the season with a better record. He doesn't have any shooters to help him get anywhere, in game 3 and 4 he had a total of 25 assists with 10 turn overs meanwhile harden on the other hand had 14 assists with 14 turnovers, the 3 players that helped the rockets win this series were Williams, Gordon and Nene because Beverly only had one memorable game and that was game one. without russ the thunder were what -58? I'm not sure about this. Russ is incredibly talented, especially athletically, however he's not a enough of a true shooter to be a 2 in today's game. If he really worked on his shooting and they got a Playmaker PG to get him the ball, then he could move to the 2. If he stays a PG, he needs to work on his shot selection. This is all if he continues to be in the current system. I'd really like to see Phil Jackson leave the Knicks and Coach OKC. He turned both Kobe and MJ from, as Colin would put it, "stats guys," to Champions.

I'm sorry but if you're still saying Westbrook doesn't make his teammates better you don't know basketball lol. Even with self awareness and all this other mess they are talking about, you still need hoopers around you. This roster isn't built for Westbrook. His decision would be easier if he had help to rely on. Harden is more in control(this yr) because he has a system and shooters to make life easier. Every mistake isn't glaring when you have a team you can fall back on. Okc is the league 3rd youngest team and the youngest in the playoffs. On top of that they can't shoot lol. The chips were stacked against this team once this series was announced 😂😂😂

Did anyone else see Westbrook jump in and literally knock a rebound out of a teammate's hands? His teammate was about to score a put-back off an offensive rebound, but here comes Westbrook to grab it out of his hands so he can dribble out to the 3 point line to take and miss a 3. That basically sums up what it's like to play with Westbrook.

Russ was making poor decisions and hogging when KD and Harden (add Jeff Green and Ibaka to that list) were there. It's on him. He's furious as well as hard headed. Ultimately, you live and die by WB. If he gets credit when they win then its only fair that he gets criticism when he loses. I watched their 5 games and they lost 4/5 by 6 points or less. Had he made a couple of more shots they could easily have advanced. But what I hate the most with these bums on this set and cowherds show minus Chris Broussard is the lack of objectivity. Jason Whitlock would have to be the dumbest "analyst" on TV and dismiss the -58 when WB was off the court would be insane. If it was -52 or -50, it gives OKC a much better chance to take these games out. But that is a 'what if' and NBA is a make or miss league. I saw Cowherd and Broussard talking about CP3 and Cowherd is not willing to criticise him because of the team "around" him but he's more than willing to rip WB and not acknowledge the team around him. Without Broussard on any of these shows, there is no objectivity. I didn't even mention gravy train and ultimate Lebron cheerleader Shannon Sharpe. #FacePalm
