EVERY SINGLE Nintendo 64 game I have or had made me shit myself when I was younger. In fact, I'm surprised King K. Rool from Donkey Kong 64 wasn't on the list, mainly because of that one cutscene of him laughing maniacally every time you got a game over or quit the game.

I think the bad graphics actually made some of them more horrifying, since your brain tries to fill in the details automatically (thus requiring your brain to think more on the subject) instead of being directly presented the final result with HD where it can be auto-filtered easily.

@@alessiocece2098 Hardly stupid, as the majoras mask 3ds remake is FAR less offputting visually than the n64 counterpart. Just compare the moons, the lower polygon count on the n64 makes the visuals look more uncanny, something our brains naturally dislike, whereas the higher detail moon on MM 3D looks silly rather than uncanny or spooky. The same can be said for the eel in mario 64 vs what they look like now, the difference is night and day and they no longer look scary, no jagged teeth, blocky faces, or bulging eyes to distract you anymore. If you have no insight to offer yourself, it is better to not refer to something as stupid when it clearly has relevance and evidence.

I used to cry and throw my nintendo away everytime i played sm64. That game was just so scary to me. Especially the water levels. The graphics just freaked me out.😂

For me it was the sound when you died in DKC. I hadn't realized that the sudden pop was the life balloon. I typically died by falling off a cliff and assumed it was the sound of Donkey Kong's body slamming into the ground.

Right?! I also have a phobia about being underwater & it freaks me out even in games. So the eel plus being underwater got to my child self. Note: Main reason water freaks me out is I can't swim. I can fully inhale and hold my breath, lay on my back, and I sink to the bottom. My parents tried teaching me to float & upon seeing that, they were baffled. I can just sit on the bottom of a pool. I also have an arm that dislocated easily due to a traffic accident, so I can't fully rotate it & this can't even try to swim. Imagine your arm stops working mid swimming? Dead.

I like how he talked about every horrifying enemy, including the killer piano ( which I actually never found scary ), but didn't talk about the scariest: Super Mario 64 Eel. Also Clanker looked much more horrifying when he first appeared rather than in Nuts & Bolts

And by that, I mean, I played Ocarina of Time as a kid and it glitched out so I couldn't get past the great jabu-jabu or whatever it was called during the child Link section. I'd already met the redeads at this point. When I came back to the game, I remembered my childhood terror surrounding the redeads so they still freak me out, but Dead Hand was new to me and just not as scary because I hadn't seen it as a terrified child.

I just find Clanker's fate to be tragic since well he never asked for it to begin with. Lord Woo Fak Fak from Banjo Tooie (Ironically I played this first before I finally got my hands on Banjo Kazooie as a kid) actually terrified me more. It could be cause I saw Clanker back in late 2007 when I was 13 so maybe thats why he didn't scared me so much but Lord Woo Fak Fak as a Kid did terrified me. I still find him creepy as an adult but I am not as scared as him as I used to be. Edit: I still have my N64. Still going strong to this day and I don't plan on selling the system or the games.

Really? Lavender town didn't get to me at all as a kid. But then again I saw movies like The Thing when I was about 7 with my dad & I guess all the horror movies made me tougher. Nothing actually scares me these days, which is a little annoying if I want a real scary experience. But it's good if I am watching something and a "scary" thing pops up.

Random thing: There was a ps3 game I played called "Mini Ninjas". Me and my sister played it alot when we were younger,and there was a level we couldn't pass on our own. You had to go through a grave yard, where gohsts lingered. The gohsts were horrifying to look at,and still have an eri feeling looking at it even now.
