I always felt it was overrated. The BP history and heritage is rich but at 13k, I would pick a GS, Tudor and something 3rd...or a SeaQ and still have money for a 2nd hand GS.

It’s a quality watch no doubt . Some bizarre decisions though 23 mm lug width , it’s a big heavy chunk would imagine it will be 180 g plus no fine adjustment .. They are an interesting brand often bigged up in you tube comments section but rarely see people backing up the sentiments with purchase .. Too big and clunky for my tastes these days ..

You can get preowned around 8 to 9 thousand and the movement is high horology with blued screws and hand finishing I owned the better bracelet one and sadly let it go but for a same quality GO seventies chronograph

These watches are great, but in real life they appear to be bigger than in photos or videos. And then the dial seems to be too big for the markings. This happens every time I see one … The bracelets are very well constructed and made, and the watch made from titanium looks really stunning. For my taste the Bathyscaphe looks a bit to stylish for a dive watch.

An absolute classic of the dive watch genre. And for some bizarre reason they put a butterfly clasp on it rendering it unusable for what it was made for. Bonkers.

Ugh, I'm always in the minority with this, but why that date position, either go no date, 6 or 3 oclock, even 12 would be ok, just not 4:30. For me it totally ruins the symmetry of the gorgeous dial. - Aaron

Cool, quirky, and understated for sure. Great looking links on the bracelet but that butterfly is almost a deal breaker in itself. Not even sure I would pick this even if I could afford it, and I see this being a piece for a hardcore BP FF and/or dive watch fan with a bunch of discretionary income. Thanks, Rich.

Well summary of this brand . Appreciated by everyone but no one really pulls the trigger cause ever one knows that they are not worth the money lol. History is cool and all but not enough to sell a watch alone .At least to me.

Blancpain is one of the worst for depreciation after you walk out of the AD. 38% loss. An 11k Bathyscape market value in June-July 2023 is only $6700😮. A friend who is a watch dealer showed me the market value list that only dealers can get. But Jomashop has them new for $7100 on Blancpain NATO ! JLC drops 33% and Omega Railmasters drop 48- 50% which is how I got a Denim Railmaster for $2800. I can get a quick release Black Sailcloth with grey stitching on Barton Watch straps for $25.99. JLC Polaris drops 33%. I bet if I started a KZbin showing this, those companies and Swatch Group would tell KZbin to delete me or they won’t advertise cause I can’t find any KZbin watch review sites saying any of this. Breitling is another bad one and after the immediate depreciation they lose on average 2.2% of value every year after that. I have 2 Breitlings bought from AD’s, 2 AD’s including the one I bought from refused to take them on trade and wouldn’t even offer a low ball $.

Yeah and it’s also a real heavy chunk and real chance you won’t get a great fit could be quite uncomfortable on wrist . Expect so much more at the price .

Respect your opinion but a butterfly clasp without any on the flight adjustment on a 13k diver is outrageous to me. I cant believe ı am saying this but sub is a bargain compared to this one even with the greymarket prices . Dont get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with this watch however even tough the quality is good I do not think its 13 k good. Some 5-6k grand seikos have much much nicer finishing than this. The problem with Blancpain is that they set their prices in very competitive price range with rolex, glashütte ext. Thays why ı believe they are not very succesful with thier sales.

@@drbobsnightmare2521 yeah, i did some research and it turns it, it is the first dive watch, even older than the sub. It was issued to the French navy, and the orginal watch was water resistant to fifty fathoms, hence the name. Pretty cool stuff
