Hi Critique and Tea fam. We've read all of the comments here so far and we'll eventually get to reply to each one of them as we usually do. But just want to say a huge thanks to everyone who took time to put in their thoughts on this and have educated us. Appreciate as well everyone's kindness and not coming after us for not liking YET the series which everyone else seems to have loved. So with the current consensus we shall give this a chance and continue watching. So stay tuned and join us in our journey of appreciating this GL series. 💕

I think people will talk you into liking the show but even as Anueng gets older in the series Khun Nueng still teaches and pushes her like an adult would to a child. It's giving grooming vibes without the control aspect. It's like the elder has the younger best interests at heart but is also childish & also wants to be intimate with her. I think people tell you to skip ahead to later episodes or the next season because those are the episodes with heavier flirting and sex scenes, people are attracted to the actors and because of that give some things a pass. I don't like or agree with the comparisons to Gap The Series. The writing is nowhere near as good as Gap The Series. Gap had complete side characters including office workers with side plots and emotions. Blank is repetitive & often feels like it is stealing emotion , mannerisms & comments from some of the actors from the original.

Hi. Thank you for giving this show a chance. I'd like to ask you to please be a bit patient as it does take time for things to really develop between the leads. Some background and context: the age gap is about 15 years. Aneung (younger one) is 20 but turns 21 soon. Khun Neung is 36. The leads (Faye and Yoko) have a lot of chemistry, but you don't see their romantic chemistry really emerge until Aneung turns 21 which is done purposely by the writers to show sensitivity to the fact that they have a rather large age gap. This is a love story of 2 people who mirror each other. Both have gone through very similar traumas and see each other and understand each other in ways most others can not. That's what draws them to one another. The show does start to pick up in the second half of season 1 as they slowly reveal more and more about the back stories of the 2 lead characters and the romantic chemistry emerges. Trust me it gets so good. Especially the end of season one and beginning of season 2. So please, please be patient and give this show a chance. You will see that they are actually really good for each other. P.S. Aneung (the younger one) is not actually immature. She just hides her pain and loneliness behind the childlike persona as a way of coping and to seem less threatening.

Just want to add a couple of more thoughts for you to consider about Blank the series and why I believe most of us and why I personally have fallen so in love with the show and especially the lead characters. While there are many that struggle with the age gap and feeling of unease in the earlier parts of the series; I believe it is important to note that most people's initial skepticism and discomforts are alleviated as the show has progressed. You will see that while there is a bit of an age gap, Aneung (younger one) is actually quite emotionally mature. They both wear masks to hide their pain and loneliness and they are both seeking to be seen, heard and loved. This sets the tone of the show. As they grow closer to one another, the walls start to crumble and for the first time, they start to feel safe to be themselves. This allows space for Aneung (younger one) to let down her mask (child like persona) and we see her boldness and emotional maturity emerge. We also get to see Khun Neung (older one) let down her mask and see her vulnerability surface. This only draws them closer together and leads them to fall deeper and deeper in love. This show has all of the feels of Gap and then some. While Gap is a love story that depicts opposites that attract, Blank is a love story of 2 people whose lives parallel each other and who mirror their wants and needs in each other. Both Gap and Blank are very important love stories to be told and I hope you can give Blank the love that you've shown Gap. The writing and the acting in this show gets better and better each episode and I can't get enough. The show and the lead characters truly have a special place in my heart, and I hope that if you give them a chance to, that they find a special place in yours as well.

Hi guys! Okay, I have to admit that when I saw the first episode, little Nueng's ( as I call her so no confusion) got on my nerves too. lol. BUT as the episodes go on, it did get less annoying and I really got hooked into the show. If you think P'Faye's acting was good and natural just from this episode, it gets even better as the episodes progress. At least, that's my opinion. To give you a little info on this story: Khun Nueng is indeed Sam's sister from GAP, the one her and Mon met when they had gone to that beach/island place and she was painting there. She is also the one who dragged Mon's butt into the grandmother's mansion when Sam was trying to tell her grandmother she wasn't going to marry Kirk and got us all cheering when she managed to get Sam to choose Mon over her grandmother and run out of that place. Little Nueng kept calling her Ar-Nueng because, from my understanding, Ar in Thai kind of means like Aunt...I suspect it is a sign of respect when a younger person addresses an older one. I too was confused at why they both have the same name but not meaning to spoil anything but a few episode in, the reason will become known. Oh, and Khun Nueng calls Sam tuo lek every once in a while which pretty much means tiny one or little one. As in, she is Khun Nueng's little sister. A term of endearment, I would guess. Khun Song is their sister who died. Yes, little Nueng is of age in this series but there is about a 15 year age gap between her and Khun Nueng. The chemistry does start building up and we get to learn more about both of them as the series goes on. Not sure how they met but if I remember from the book, little Nueng had taken classes that Khun Nueng was teaching at her school. Correct me if I am wrong anyone out there. lol. Hope this helps you understand a bit more of what just happened in this first episode. Just glad you both gave it a try and no worries, Joi, if you don't like it even after the second epi. Your honest opinions is what makes watching your channel and reactions worthwhile and real. As always, loved your reactions. Take care and a big meow to Callie who made a small appearance at the end. haha.

I started the series being so annoyed with Aneung (The younger one) but by the 3rd or 4th episode, I had the softest spot for her and was very impressed with Yoko's acting and potrayal of such a complex character, she has to make you feel that cringiness and annoyance but also come off as cute and there are so many layers to uncover and honestly in my humble opinion the acting and chemistry in blank surpasses gap by a mile!!!

First to begin with the fact that it took you so long to get that both leads have the same name kind of hinted to me what your attitudes were going to me. Nueng (the younger one...who is BTW 20) has a serious crush on Ar-Nueng and is pursuing her with all her innocent might. Her immaturity is a partly a mask and partly because she has been sheltered her entire life by her Grandmother for reasons who will discover (if you continue). The plot and storyline is extremely interesting and has lots of twists and turns. But yes Yoko, the actress playing Nueng, said she turned up the childish behavior of her character, so that when the change came people would clearly see, how and why she matured as she did. As for chemistry, LMAO. That my friends, you will feel before to long. BTW, the age gap is 15yrs.

Hi, Clang & Joi. I was the same with this episode. Anueng was acting really young, and I found it annoying and problematic, too. I can say that Anueng is of legal age - that will become clearer in the next episode, which details Anueng's back story a bit more. I my main problem was the same as Joi's: I could see no chemistry between Khun Nueng and Anueng, and this will not change much until at least episode four. I was ready to throw in the towel by episode three, and watched on only out of curiosity. Quick bits: yes, that is a sister series to "Gap" (same author), but "Blank" follows after "Gap", the novel, not the TV show. Main differences: * Sam and Mon are not married; Grandma only tolerates Sam's relationship with Mon (I think, cause she feared she would lose Sam otherwise), but this is all "under the radar" and not acknowldged in public. * Khun Nueng is the eldest of the three sisters, Nueng, Song, Sam means 1, 2, 3 in Thai * Khun Song did not die in a car accident in this show, but is still dead Couple of quick remarks: * "Ar-" is just a polite way to address a person (like "Mrs." or "Mr.") * The younger one is called Anueng, but as a nickname, this is shortened to just "Nueng" - the same as Khun Nueng. * "Tuo lek" is the nickname Khun Nueng also used in "Gap" for Khun Sam - it means "little one". I'm interested to see how long you keep up with this show. In my opinion, it get's better by episode four. Thanks for letting me know that I wasn't alone with not liking this episode. Now, I off to watch episode nine which came out as you were posting your reaction. See you Soon!

Neung is a 20-year-old introverted girl. Because of her grandmother's strict discipline, she was forced to pretend to be a 16-year-old high school student. That's why her actions are very childish. She fell in love with K.neung at first sight. After observing her for a while, she learned that K.neung was a person who was indifferent to everyone. Therefore, her initial strategy was to make K.nueng angry with her childish behavior so that K.Neung would pay attention to her. This drama was produced by a CEO who has a degree in psychology, so you have to pay attention to the details, especially the actors' eyes, movements and body language, which all have other meanings. For example, when Neung is in front of someone, she is smiling, but when she turns around, she turns into a sad face.☺ After watching SS1 and SS2, SS1 is my favorite. Even though I watched it more than 100 times, I still feel that I missed their little expressions, eyes, body language and tone at certain moments. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I discover new things. Now I've started watching this show again. I hope you can give this drama a chance and never miss out on good actors and a good show.

@@lllchblanklll you seem to be a part of the production company standing up for the show like they pay you lol. The show is problematic in a multitude of ways, if you can't see that it's you that has issues. Gap was adapted further because if not it would have been as bad as the pilot trailer. Blank has two talented actors (one clearly superior) wasting their talents on a storyline that should have had a complete revision or better choice never been made. Blank is popular because fans are willing to put aside morals because they find the actors attractive. When an actor cries and they are halfway decent it will get a reaction from the viewer. Shows like this bring down the LGBTQ+ community and further encourage negative stereotypes about same sex relationships.
