This weeks exciting guests are Blank Trails.
I have followed Fiona & Keith's story on Instagram from the day that they rescued Gracie, to also rescuing Gracie's sister, Uimhir, to using the last of their savings to getting home safely & to their adventure coming to a halt. They are no back home nearly a year and successfully brought back Uimhir from Columbia who is Gracie's sister, Uimhir now has another companion called Sophie and they are the cutest.
Gracie sadly passed away after 28 days late last year. The pet shop that she was in was in awful conditions, Glass cages, no air conditioning, no food or water, no clean cage and she was surrounded by her own urine, there was no care given by the pet shop to Gracie. When Fiona and Keith rescued Gracie they knew it was going to be tough and expensive but they definitely didn't expect for Gracie's story to end so quickly.
They are currently trying to raise funds as they have hired two prominent Columbian lawyers, Laura Santacoloma & Monica Garcia in Bogata to iniate legal proceedings to change regulations in relation to the sale of Cats & Dogs in Columbian pet stores. This legal action will take approximately two years to complete at a cost of €28,000. Their aim is to outlaw the sales of cats & dogs in Columbia or at the very least to introduce very strong regulations.
Fiona & Keith are trying their best to gather and raise funds for their campaign and they have just recently finished their first fundraiser that i was very lucky to be apart of. The fundraiser was called 56/28 the meaning behind the fundraiser was that the 28 days that Gracie were alive for and was rescued from her misery by Fiona & Keith to sadly passing away suddenly. 50 people took part over the month of September walking 56km for the 28 days that Gracie was kept alive for.
