Blankenberge I Sint-Antoniuskerk

De Sint-Antoniuskerk, vlakbij het station van Blankenberge is de oudste kerk van Blankenberge (West-Vlaanderen) en werd gebouwd in de late middeleeuwen, halfweg de 14de eeuw.
Veel in deze kerk getuigt van een vissersverleden.
De oorspronkelijke kerk was echter veel groter dan de huidige. De zuil die men buiten naast de toegangspoort kan opmerken en die gedeeltelijk in de muur zit ingebouwd, stond vroeger midden in de grote hallenkerk.

Eng: St. Anthony's Church, near the Blankenberge train station is the oldest church in Blankenberge (West Flanders) and was built in the late Middle Ages, in the mid-14th century. Much in this church bears witness to a fishing past. However, the original church was much larger than the current one. The column that can be noticed outside next to the entrance gate and is partially built into the wall used to stand in the middle of the large hall church.

Ik vind die andere kerk van Blankenberge ook mooi maar je ziet wel dat dit de oudste is :)
