Great review guys. Recently tasted all buffalo trace barrel proof bourbons blind, this came 3rd behind GTS and WLW, but beat out EH Taylor and Stagg Jr. I think SFTB is easily the best Blanton's from the 4 core range expressions. Cheers!

Dillon's Scores: Green - 0.5, 2, 1.5, 3, 0 = 7 Regular - 1.5, 2, 1.5, 3, 0.5 = 8.5 Gold - 2, 2.5, 2, 3, 0.5 = 10 SFTB - 2, 3, 2, 3, 0.5 = 10.5 Sounds about right.

I agree with Dillon on Value. If Value is Price and Availability then you have to give it a 0.5 because a cask strength bourbon at 66.6% and only $110 is a steal. Availability is absolutely a 0. Plus, not all your viewers are American so this could very easily be a 1 for someone in a country that has it. Great video guys, always love them, keep em coming!

Goes for about $225 usd on the secondary. See them sell all the time. My Mom found one in Spain for 65 euros, awesome value. Wish they sold them in North America.

If it was too hot they should have added a few drops of water...that’s also the great thing about high Proof too, that you can bring it down however much you want if need be.

Buffalo trace doesn’t own Blantons they just make it similar to what they do for Pappy for the old rip van winkle distillery. It’s actually owned by Age international owned by Takara a Japanese company. Takara don’t care about the US market they mostly go for other markets.

This is my favorite Blanton. The thing I love about this is that I can get this without crazy markups most of the time. Was able to get last bottle in the UK for about $70 USD. Rich, delicious flavor. You can truly appreciate what Blanton is all about with this proof. Agree with Legend standing. Cheers!

For selfish reasons I hope this doesn’t become released in America. I live in Australia and we miss out on so many great bourbons but we can get this. It costs $155 Australian Dollars which works out to about $110 US Dollars. If it was released in America it would probably become another bourbon we can’t get. My understanding is been although made by Buffalo Trace the brand is owned by a Japanese Company and they allowed for the yellow label to be available in America but not the other expressions. It is a great bourbon and gets better after the bottle has been opened a month or two.

imfatsowhat88 it feels a bit too high to me but if you can’t use a vacation excuse to go to Canada or Europe, I suppose you have to weigh its worth. I take road trips up to Canada and pick it up for retail price. Or go to Europe and haggle it down to 60 euros or so. :)

I feel for the people in usa that can't find this gem. I already had one two years ago which i purchased in Vienna which was 128,5 proof and i just purchased a bottle in a tourist village three days ago which is 129,6 proof. I bought it for 108 usd in a remote tourist village in Northern Greece. The bottle was covered with dust, they were unaware what the fuck they had in the store. They didn't even store it with the other whiskeys, it was caouflaged among the gins and vodkas. The bottle i drank from Vienna tasted like high proof liquid chocollate. Great stuff!

Gotta bust balls again. When you all looked at the bottle, price, and name you all got a bourbon boner. All of your eyes lit up. I knew right then the high marks would come regardless if it tasted like a Makers Mark product. Sorry, but there is a trend whether you want to admit it or not. High priced and unicorns get high marks when you guys see the bottle. Its becoming too predictable.

I love Blanton's. But, Blanton's really pisses me off by making everything else international only. SO STUPID! This is an American product. Sell it in AMERICA.
