Bantakwethu some things are rooted deep in our own families. The challenge is that we don’t talk about these things. If we were able to talk about these not in a judgemental way but in a way to embrace the truth about ourselves. Unfortunately we use religious perspective to judge instead of facing our reality in order to evolve or transcend whatever behaviour is not beneficial to us. At home I have a father who dated her own daughter and they had a daughter together. She was a friend to me and wanted her but she didn’t want any boy at school. She really loved her father. She then left her daughter with her father and went to work in Joburg. The father again made the child with the same granddaughter. These things happened while elderly people were around. However they told Neibour’s to stay away and focus in their own families. Her own mother knew about these and is at home raising her own grandchildren. Those who know the family history says it didn’t start in this generation but always come back. If I’m religious person I would blindly condemn that act or maybe judging them based on the position of my strength. However, I know nothing about their blood line and what they are dealing with. As for me now I just want to learn and to understand these things in order to understand myself better. I have learned from this story and thanks for sharing.
