Btw the ending A bullshit is super worth it and fun. I did it on accident my first playthrough (as in I completed a few of them, looked up how to get the good ending, and saw I just needed to do it for all of them) But basically, you equip the perfect pearl rosary or whatever it's called, basically the thing that does nothing, and then die 3 times with it equipped and it'll turn into "the Weight of Guilt" or something like that. Then destroy those Guilt statues and play through their challenges, which are these fun rooms where waves of enemies are spawned and you just survive till the end. Do that for all 7 and that's it. It's super fun.

I may be late to the party but here some knowledge. Exposito, or Esposito in italian, means "to be exposed". I was an old tradition, in Naples, to expose orphans to public squares so that they could be adopted. Those that did not find a family got the surname Esposito that meant there were without any family. I can't say if this thing happened in other city or country, but here in south Italy and Naples Esposito is a very common surname.

@coyote43263 жыл бұрын
The game is based heavily off Spanish Christianity, especially during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and is heavily, HEAVILY based around the ideas of 'Original Sin' and 'Suffering as a way of Atonement for our Sins'. The game is supposed to be teeth grinding, keyboard smashing hard because suffering is a central theme of the game. During the Middle Ages and even through the Colonial era, a philosophy spread through the various abbey's in Spain and it's colonies that suffering was inherent to our atonement and was the purest and best way to absolve ourselves of our sins. Furthermore, we deserved our suffering - not just for our own sins but for the sins of our forefathers. Some abbeys and brotherhoods of monks would take this so far as to constantly inflict pain upon themselves in order to "atone" for their suffering. In fact, one specific abbey of monks in 17th century Spain would wear masks or sometimes just bandages in public because their faces were so horribly disfigured from self-deprecation. And then there were some of the more popular methods of "punishing ones self for their sins", such as the mass flagellations that started taking place in the Middle Ages which eventually got so bad the Church banned it out right. The idea of original sin can be similarly compared to the eastern idea of karma, where the suffering one goes through in their life is directly due to what they did in their past lives. The difference being that reincarnation is not a part of Catholicism, and instead the suffering that you bare in your life is directly due to the sins of your father, and his father, going all the way back to the very first sin committed by Adam in the garden when he took the apple from the forbidden Tree of Knowledge. That's right, according to Catholicism we're STILL paying for that. As for the idea the suffering we endure is pious and noble, and that there's no better form of repentance that enduring suffering, that's a wholly Catholic thing, specifically speaking it's mostly a wholly Spanish-Catholic thing. Most forms of Christianity don't hold this belief. Another thing to note is that original sin, specifically sin in and of itself has a huge tie in with "guilt" in Spanish Catholicism. We all carry massive amounts of guilt upon our shoulders, from birth, and whether you actually did anything is irrelevant or not because we are born with the sin of those who came before stained upon our souls. You can still to this day see remnants of the old Spanish-Catholic idea that suffering = piety. In New Mexico for example, there are two separate events which both Catholics and Christians take part in. One, is that during a certain time of the year, people will often make an on-foot pilgrimage from wherever they live in New Mexico to the Cathedral in Santa Fe, which could be anywhere from 10 to five hundred miles. While harrowing, this in and of itself wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that they also carry an actual full sized wooden cross on their backs - the pilgrimage meant to represent Jesus's forced march to his crucifixion site in which he had to carry the cross he was laid upon. Because several people have been hospitalized due to exhaustion and dehydration, the state government has discussed several times banning this form of pilgrimage, though they've never succeeded because doing so would be a direct violation of the U.S. Constitution, which expressly enshrines the rights of the freedom of religious expression so long as said expression doesn't hurt others. Doesn't say anything about hurting yourself, though. Another example is also in Santa Fe. There is an entirely uphill path made of jagged stone, with a shrine at the end of the path. Tradition states that in order to get to the shrine to worship at it/receive it's blessing, one must crawl on their knees to the shrine along the pathway of jagged stone, with the route being about a mile long. The game is very much about suffering for all the reasons I've explained above. It wants you to feel pain, because pain (or rather, pain through penance) is quite literally the name of the game. Well - not the actual name of the game, but you get it. The game WANTS you to suffer, because in both the world of Blasphemous and old Spanish-Catholicism that it took inspiration from, suffering is the greatest form of penance. And if you didn't notice, your character is literally called the "Penitent One", and the journey you are on is a spiritual pilgrimage to obtain penance, both for you and your people. It is only right that you suffer on your path of absolution for if you didn't go through hardship, have you truly learned anything or absolved yourself? Finally, you might be wondering why what I mention or the game is so heavily connected to both Middle Ages Spanish folklore and Spanish-centric Catholicism. Well, the developers are Spanish of course, and that is what they drew on for inspiration in the creation of their world. This is a game where you REALLY need to pay attention to learn the lore, and this includes reading item descriptions. It's not like other games where it's going to dump all the lore of the world onto you in a ten minute long exposition at the beginning. You need to piece it together yourself, this game is not going to hold hands.

Blasphemy would be the lack of a sequel to this. There's a lot of room to expand and make this series even more grotesque and vague.

7:50 For me, the voice is 20%. The other 80% is the fact that you're a goofy bastard who makes me laugh.
