Something that Super Metroid did that was very unique was the secret attacks you could do by combining solo beams with power bombs. The series never did anything quite like that again. The only Metroidvania that did anything like that was Hollow Knight with the charm system. Now we can add Blasphemous 2 to the small list of Metroidvanias with cool hidden attack combos.

I randomly found it by trying to combine the extra ruego damage with the extra mystic damage, which surprised me with a really cool hidden one!

I love this resonance system and I also only started using it correctly near to the end of my first playthrough. My favorite resonance combo i use are the magic daggers and the narcimiento & the pilgrim combo that gives back the lightning after healing. Very strong to melt down bosses.

The very first resonance I found during my playthrough was actually a hidden one, so naturally every time I got a new figure I tested each and every pair, that was pretty fun to do. WARNING: SPOILER IN READ MORE The one that allows you to stop time each time you drink a flask was especially useful, and I also liked the one that boosts veredicto's fire (which were coincidentally the first two I found), but they all seem fun for alternative playstyles.

The benefits of synergies have yet to be assessed, because individually, due to their minor improvements, some of the figures are useless, for example, Tirso, Thirst or Trifon, and the mobs are fat in health. The only thing that definitely does not please is the lack of a statuette that would give bonuses when switching weapons, that is, there is no point in juggling weapons, firstly, because enemies do not have any obvious vulnerabilities, and secondly, it is not profitable, because it is more efficient to invest in one thing and play it. And zeroing the scale of the blade and rapiers when switching or resting at the luminary further kills the desire to switch between types of weapons, although in the second case it would be nice, on the contrary, to replenish these bonuses when resting.

I found them early but the only ones I found was the boring "get 15% more damage" ones so I didn't think they were anything special

I accidentally discovered one right off the bat with Veredicto and increased fire damage. Side question: were you (or anyone else here) able to 100% the game in a single playthrough?

I did everything but the speedrun trophy in one run. It would be interesting to see how early you can get a hidden resonance, maybe I chose my statues wrong 😂

I got the same one first, you can get it extremely fast if you pick veredicto in the beginning and go to the top left area first I even think that except for the traitor, the two figures needed for this resonance were the first two I got As for your question, I don't think you can get locked out of any achievement except for the speedrun one on your first playthrough. Though you probably don't want to be forced to do the "no hit any boss" on the final boss so if you don't randomly get it on a midgame boss like me it's probably a good idea to do it on another file too. And if you were not talking about achievements, just about having 100% written on your file, I got it and I don't think you can get locked out of it. There's at least one side quest you can fail, but you still get the reward for it somewhere else

@@pkinsect6618 indeed, indeed! Death's Gambit is a wonderful game. The original Blasphemous still wins out in my heart. That is my favorite metroidvania. Symphony Of The Night definitely looks like it could run for the title, but sadly I never got to play it, was never a Playstation guy.

@@JoeyFTL I never got to play symphony of the night either unfortunately, but it seems very good. I am a huge fan of salt and sanctuary too, and of course hollow knight, but death's gambit (or more precisely death's gambit: afterlife, since it's miles better than the original death's gambit) probably still wins in my heart. I love the first blasphemous too, but a bit less than these I think.

I explained why I personally did not end up discovering the extent of the system, and I understood the tutorial and did experiment with pairings… Like I said, obviously some people will find it, but if I can nudge a few people in the right direction it’s all good 👍

However, the video has done exactly what I wanted it to do, which is let folks know that there are less obvious Resonances than what you might first expect. Literally every reference to these Resonances is labeling them as Hidden Resonances, so chill out.

Some of the statues turn gold it’s the ones with the sash
