Another awesome video, and impressive footage with the sailboat that came from Cuba.

Great video! I really enjoy watching your short trips there around Miami. I hope to do it myself one day. But for now I'm stuck in Puget Sound. Keep them coming! I'll need them to get through the winter to here. And thanks!

That's not too horrible. What do you sail up there? Is the wind pretty strong?
@prqrsqtful6 жыл бұрын
@@AllenMichaelsVlogs I sail a 1985 O'day 192. The winds here are seasonal but can be lots of fun. But the water is very cold and you can't swim in it. I miss those warm waters you enjoy.

That's a cool boat. Reminds me of a Precision which is still being built down here in Miami. It makes a perfect camper on the road so you can take it to the warmer climates :)

Hello Allen awesome videos 👍 Does the salt water do corrosion to the Honda motor ? I just bought a siren 17 and plan on trailering it to Florida and exploring the keys . Your videos inspired me to find and buy a siren and enjoy life.

Hello Wayne, congratulations on your purchase. This Honda is probably the least maintenance engine that you can buy. I had it for 6 years I have maintained it 100% myself. As far as rust some of the bolts rusted inside but they are very inexpensive to order and replace.

Allen Michaels the Siren 17 I bought is in excellent condition but the mariner motor that was included is a two stroke so I will replace it and with a Honda.

@@hideawaysailing9078 The only thing that I noticed about Honda is that it doesn't like ethanol gas. So as long as you only use rec90 fuel it will run like a dream. It's a bit more noisy than watercooled counterparts too. If you have some videos of your siren I would love to see it.

Hi Allen, Nice video! How long it was the sailing from Miami?

Thank you! About 3 hours.

Do you still have your Siren 17? I just bought one, an older model but in great shape. I was looking at your video trying to see how your mainsail tack was connected to the boom. It looks different than mine. I have a pin in the boom but i don’t see anything else that I would attached the tack to.
@AllenMichaelsVlogs4 жыл бұрын
I can take some photos. I have completely rebuilt the boom so it is not like the original Siren rig which failed on me.

Allen Michaels A picture would be great. I talked with the previous owner and he confirmed the way I though it was connecting to the tack. However, he doesn’t like the design and I believe that there is probably something missing as he is not the original owner as well.

@@keithwiggins4987 I can't seem to upload a picture here. There is a Siren 17 owners group on Facebook. I can upload it there.
