Remember guys, this was never a forecast. I can already tell there is some hidden frustrations in the comments. A lot of hiding it behind “I’m sorry but…” No need for all that guys, in the Southeast the reality of it is that it just takes darn near close to a miracle to get snow. Long Winter ahead.. I hope we can all at some point feel the joy of breaking down a Winter Storm sometime this season.

Please continue to pray for us in Western NC. Some of our people are still living in tents. We still have many missing people, and we are still finding bodies. Some people lost everything including their vehicles. We have lost restaurants and other businesses that have been here for decades. The amish have built tiny homes others have donated travel trailers that we have not been permitted to live in due to government regulations. Fema is gone and did very little. People are sick and our beautiful mountain rivers we swam in since childhood are contaminated and may never be safe again. 😢This is effecting mental health also😢

As someone who lives in mass, I feel like its never something to watch until around 6 days out when models start to agree. I'm really hoping for this storm around the 22nd, and I think it definitely could. It's just so close. I think that once we get to monday we might start seeing a little bit of agreement.

The 2 biggest snowfalls here in South/Central Ms in my life time was 9" March 10th 1993 and 7.5" Dec 8th 2017 and both of those was not even forecasted for us. The many times they said we would get snow it didn't or got very little. The models struggle with forecasting winter storms in the South

Mitch I come from the Jersey Shore. Most of the time in the winter the ocean temperature stoped us from getting snow. You keep on saying that low pressure brings cold air. But coming from the NE our perfect setup for snow is to have an article high over the Hudson Bay and a blocking high off the NE coast. The last ingredient for a blizzard is to have a storm come up the coast and go over the 40-50 benchmark off the coast. Can you please explain why you always state that low pressure brings cold air in one of your videos.

Low pressure normally brings down cold air, the low pressure itself doesn’t & I probably could do a better job of explaining it. Normally with a dip in a trough, there is a cold front that comes down & behind the front comes the cold air

A stat to keep in mind. Model skill scores with regards to low pressure formations at 3 days is 98%, 5 days 95%, 7 days 75% and at 10 days it’s a coin flip as to if a low will form or not when the models are run.

Models always struggle during transition and put out fantasy storms and ridiculous amounts of snow over a week out. The other teleconnections don’t support it especially the MJO. Maybe first or second week of January could be promising with the MJO possibly moving towards 7-8.
