EASY METHOD (STEPS): 1. Reach the checkpoint at 1:44. 2. Die on purpose enough times to get 2 aku aku masks (should take around 10 deaths). 3. Get the extra aku aku mask seen at 3:10. 4. Quickly run to the hidden gem to destroy the top metal crate seen at 4:00 with your invincibility (leave the arrow crate intact). 5. Wait for the invincibility to wear off. 6. Jump on the arrow crate (while holding X to increase jumping height), then press X again for double jump, then press Circle at the last possible moment to enter a slamming animation, which takes you slightly higher. That should get you the hidden gem. If not, die on purpose and try again from the checkpoint.

If only I had the skill like Mr. Johnny to hit the bounce box from the side but reach the correct height. I was able to make it through the level with all masks and once I got near the hidden gem, I followed the steps. Thank you kindly.

Much easier method for those who need it...Get the 3 masks to get rid of top steel crate, hold X of course to highest point of arrow jump, do your double jump and theeeeen press O to get that extra height from going i to slam mode. After all the time doing this and i got it immediately from adding the slam at the end of all the high jumps

After high jump abover the steel crate at the peak YOU HAVE TO JUMP AGAIN to get the gem. I was lost for an hour even i could jump correctly in like 7/10 times i could not get it. I tried the triple mask method to destroy the top steel box to jump freely only to find out I am not reaching the gem. This is where uh-huh happened and i realized additional jump needed. So save your time and dont forget the extra jump on the peak to reach the gem.

Only took me 15 mins I’ve seen people comment it has taken hours to get the gem. This game is ridiculously hard it takes some of fun out of it. I died 320 plus times in the off balance level the wall runs with the bloody crates you have to phase into 🤬 also the hidden gem In that level took me weeks to Find.

Probably no one will read this but I noticed if you get three 1up masks before the hidden gem, you can just take out the metal crate blocking the spring crate. Much easier to get the hidden gem

This was the only hidden gem left I couldn’t find. Last summer I had jumped off the edge of the bounce crate and got high enough, but never found anything. Did it a few more times and nothing so just assumed it wasn’t there. Turns out I wasn’t far enough to the right when my jump had peaked. Thank you sir, probably never would have found it if it wasn’t for this guide

Definitely the method dor the hidden gem is the triple mask.. destroy fhe upper crate and freely jump as high as u can.

You want to align yourself with the crates while doing a high bounce off the bounce crate. You basically just want to hold left so you just skirt around the armored crate, then tap right a couple times do you're directly above it. Keep holding the jump button the whole time.

It's one of the hardest to get in the whole game. Some of them are hidden in cruel ways, but easy to get once you know where they are. This one, though, ticks both boxes.

this bonus level is BS, the time box at the start barely lasts half a second, so I have to jump on it and then back on the ledge and then double jump to second box to get the others which last longer before disappearing, nevertheless, this is BS. They SHOULD'VE given us the time Mask.

Need to make sure you hold X when bouncing off the box, then align yourself with the TNT, as the gem is right above it.

this level with the hidden gem and the last levels with the polar bear runs is the reason Im not going to continue this game it can get wrecked........ This game is a massive let down. They've made it too hard to be enjoyable. Its not like the original games at all and its stupid. Anyway good on you for the videos. Cheers :)

I mean I love it. Incredible game, but I agree to a point. It is insanely difficult. 27 here played all the originals growing up plus insane trilogy, but this thing is crazy challenging. How are kids supposed to play this thing. It would blow my mind if my son at 4 could play this thing actually. I noticed after so many deaths it starts to give you masks and check points so that's nice. The newer donkey kong also had this problem.

I used the 3 masks to get the hard box away so I could freely jump to the secret gem and I still cannot reach it

Pay close attention to my inputs. You want to bounce to the left of the top box, and then just tap right a couple times so you're aligned with the center of the top of the top box. This will make it so you jump over the gem, but fall back down on top of it.

I also did it with the 3 masks. At the highest point of your jump, you need to jump again.
