It's called laning, preventing the enemy team from advancing down the feild. It's a pretty prominent part of the game. If pods are capped at two it would result in alot more chaos and less strategy

Obviously there are more reasons to shoot the amount of paint they do, but this is just the way competitive paintball is played. What you might be looking for is a more woodsball style of the game
