Blaupunkt Arkansas Delux Stereo Radiogram full demo

An ebay purchase, after some initial safety checks I powered the chasis up via a lamp limiter. Everything seemed ok via the lamp limiter after an hour or so I then put full mains through it. Everything worked, no hum so the Siemans smoothing can was good as well as the Selinium rectifier. The chasis is a printed circuit board and all of the capacitors are of good quality WIMA type. All of the de-coupling capacitors and resistors in the output stage checked out within spec, electricly the chasis was working just a clean was needed.
The MW tuning gang was siezed which had resulted in a snaped dial cord which I replaced.
The Garrard Autoslim was fully serviced as the grease had hardend and the idler was treated with rubber renew. A new 78 and Lp stylus was fitted to the Ronette Stereo 105 turnover cartridge.

I've got two of the older Arkansas from 56/57. One with be restored absolutely bone stock and the other is getting quite a radical custom job done to it. Also got a rare Blaupunkt Lugano table radio the was one of the first to have a small turn table under the top/lid. Right now though I've just started restoring a Graetz Melodia, the tuner is in awesome condition, all the strings for the frequencies are as smooth as silk but the cabinet is in a bit of a sorry state but it's for the garage so not going all out of on it. After the two grams are done I'm hoping to find a Grundig 5030 and a Blaupunkt Palma ..... then that's enough old German radio for this house.

I have the same one but when you played record you had push the deck back in. This radiogram was fab for playing reggae 45rpm on. i know lots of coloured family had one of these in the 60s and 70s I got mine in 2000 from my uncle still use it these days. he got radiogram in 1970

River Huntingdon it didnt ever have a light in the record side, something i may add. I still use my bardic everyday with its now fitted LED bulb. Something i may need when i putting out assistance protection as I'm always driving 1957 built class 20s currently!

Hi Darren. I have the same radiogram, although not in as superb condition as yours. My turntable only works when pushed into the cabinet. Did you bypass this function somehow?

@@stickmanwill there is a black pushbutton on the back of my turntable which I pushed in so that it plays when TT is out,also you can buy a 5 pin din to rca cable,I connect an amazon echo dot to mine.

I have one of these for sale although the buttons on teh radio wont stay in and the turntable needs a needle to play records. I love this but I need to make space for my mums nursing equipment . Many happy memories of playing this non-stop as a teen. Please do get in touch if interested
