I've had the Grand Slam since 2016 and can attest to the fact that Mark's pellet grills are extremely well designed & fabricated, plus they are as durable as promised! Mine does live in my garage when not in use due to limited space, but it is as good as new after 7 years of 200+ uses. I smoke mostly spare ribs & pork butt, but have had very good luck with 13+ hour long cooks of brisket. I've also done chickens w/ good results, but not my preferred cook. My only issue was having difficulty with the automated shut down that seemed to allow burn back of pellets into the tube making for a difficult next start-up. That was corrected by sending the controller back for free reprogramming that has totally eliminated that problem (I'm sure that is an old issue never to occur again). Customer service was top shelf! I can't recommend this HIGH QUALITY USA MADE pellet grill enough! It is much more expensive than the far inferior offshore fabricated competition , however these units will last long enough to mentor & hand down to your next generation of BBQ'ers!

I just got my American made Grid Iron! Just did the first burn and my first tri-tip and it was perfect! This thing is built to last and the controls are accurate.

Looking to buy a pellet grill, and I'm finding more and more US made options than I was expecting. I ran across these, and these look damn well made. We also want to support our US workers - we love to buy local/US made when we can. My big question is, how well does smoke penetrate the underside of the meat with those upper grates? They don't seem to support good air/smoke flow below the grate.

I want to love this. I do. If they only made (or had an option) to build a one with an all stainless interior / barrel I'd be all in.

Very nice grill. One question, are the auger motors and fans made in the USA?

100% American-made. You sold me. How does it hold temperature fluctuations? I have a recteq, but I'm ashamed it's pretty much chinese.

I have the grid Iron. It's a nice grill but his statements about temp accuracy is not true. I have objective evidence. I put in probes in the left and right side and the right is always higher than than setpoint. As long as one knows the offset or delta between setpoint and actual there is no problem. I even tried to bias the control per the instructions they provide but it only moves the delta. My guess is when they developed the algorithm they did not have multiple TCs on the grill likely only one in the middle as that is the location where they have you measure to bias the controller. I love ergonomics but the accuracy and lack of smoke flavor do not compare to the Smokin Brothers Premier. However the same rotating grill grates are incredible. I have 3 pellets and use the GI the least and will likely sell it. BtW the temp on each shelf are not the same as well. As nice as the grill is it's just average in terms of cooking.

You must have a defect or are lying. Mine have both held perfect temp since 2014. Never more than 2° +/- winter or summer. Got rid of Yoder that couldn’t hold temps.

@@rueridge7597 I don't lie. No incentive to do so..what would be the point. Fortunately Blaz'n called me and it appears they are aware and have a hardware fix. So suggest you inquire before you make conclusive accusations.
