BB has always used 3d models, but as part of the process of making sprites, not the end result. That's why the motions in BB are so fluid. They use them for getting animation and shading, then they render them as 2d sprites. The only reason XRD is in 3d because BB was the game that use High Res sprites, and arcsys didn't want to compete with themselves visually.

Arc System Works, you made a good series with a variety of characters, some designed to be loved, others designed to be hated, and some... just bug the hell out of everyone (no pun intended), the game itself was fast paced, but the more you play, the more confident you feel. Although, some decisions were cuestionable... like the cut of two important features. The first one (and most important): English Dub ("get over it" comments, come to me), because some of the voices grew on me since Calamity Trigger, and from the change to the original and "godlike" japanese dub, I can say that: Tsubaki is not as calm and composed as Julie Ann Taylor portrayed her. Kokonoe is not badass, she sounds like an old lady. Noel, Celica, Platinum and Taokaka sounded cute, and even though I hated/disliked the aforementioned characters, they grew on me, sadly, the hate to them returned, with the lack of English Dub. Ragna lost the essence that Patrick Seitz put on him, and he did it outstanding. And now, the people that says: Dub wasn't necessary, No one liked the Dub, get over it, 6.5k people doesn't mean anything, Dub is just for casuals,it was cut to short the gap between japanese and english release, etc. Let me tell you: First, remember Alter Memory? The anime that made fun of the legacy of the story of the game, changing some details of the story, and tried to approach to new people, failing miserably? Well, it got dubbed, and no one asked for it. Second, BlazBlue is a niché fighting game, and, as stated by Wikipedia, it has sold 1.2M copies around the world, and I really think that 6.5k people opinions (myself included) care, because ASW cut a feature that was included since the very first game, and cutting it to the end of the road was kind of disrespectful to the voice actors, so as to the players that loved it. Third and finally: Why, if the dub was the thing that made it being late for America, Centralfiction came almost a month later after the japanese release? Because, IIRC, the PS Store of Hong Kong had the copy of it with the ENGLISH subtitles already, so that the Dub was cut because of the delay of the game is a pathetic reason for me. Oh, and the people actually IMPORTED the japanese version of te game to get it faster. So... nothing changed by cutting the feature that 6.5k people loved. The other feature is Unlimited Mars Mode, or, more specifically, Unlimited Characters, because the fights against Izanami and Susanoo that occur in the Story Mode are anti climatic, and goes like any other fight. I know that this comment won't be at the top of this, neither that will make ASW to change their opinion towards the dub, but, is that BlazBlue helped me to develop my skills at english, and the Dub helped me a lot with the pronunciation, and Unlimited Mars was a very challenging mode to go through (though I didn't pass the Course A of CPEX). My opinion is delivered, liked or disliked, Idk, and idc either, but I really want to say thank you BlazBlue for exist, and thank you, Arc System Works, for develop it, and make a story that was complex, but really interesting. And, with this patch, you MAY have the opportunity to fix the mistakes made in the past. But, who knows. Sincerely yours, A Fan.

BBCT~BBCF2 was pretty much my entire youth. I loved it so fucking much. Mori P is gone but the title still belongs to Arcsys. I'd really wanna see Arcsys make a new proper fighting game for the series so it can live on. I was so hyped back then when I first saw that fully animated arm of Ragna grabbing his sword at the beginning of this opening. I was thinking that maybe Arcsys was going to give Blazblue that GuiltyGear Xrd treatment and upgrade the sequel to a 2.5D next generation fighting game. Nope, the series pretty much died after BBCF2... I tried Tag but two things: (1)It's not an actual sequel, it's more of a spinoff. (2)I didn't really like Tag's system and the game was pretty unbalanced. Then, BBDW got delayed badly, which really hurt the game profit because by the time BBDW was finally released, the gacha game market was pretty much saturated. The result being that BBDW only lived less than a year. IMO they should've never invested in mobile game. Arcsys is pretty good at making anime fighters if they put efforts into it. They are pretty much the best anime fighters maker on the market. BlazBlue series could've been in a much better position now if they just focused on developing its sequel as proper anime fighting games. Even now, it still hurts my soul to see how my favorite series died in this slow and painful way. Arcsys, please do something to revive this series. GGST is doing pretty well and I believe you still have that same power to also make BB great again.

I was just saying that Ragna model at the beginning of this video reminds me of what they've done to GG. The only thing I really care about is them making a proper sequel anime fighters for BB. 2D or 2.5D, I'm fine with either of them. You can hate on their 2.5D approach to STRIVE but the truth is STRIVE is just doing a lot better than any previous GG games worldwide. Mind you that Arcsys ain't some huge company like Bandai or Capcom. They do not have the same amount of resource and so they cannot afford to trial and error too many times in the market. The success of DBFZ and GGST internationally speaks for itself. It's just likely that any new fighting game they make will be in similar style.
