Yu's Astral Finish is like a million times better if you've beaten persona 4. It's fanservice as hell. Same is true for Chie's although you don't actually have to beat the game to get that one.

But for the ones who watch it and know where it's referring to, it's pretty hype. And this apply to the other 3 franchises with their Astrals. Well when nothing in the background nor Ruby herself are moving, the gun firing says yes shes moving, but it makes the effect look cheaper than it could have simply because everything else is static

I think it’s supposed to be a reference to one of her fights where she catches a monster by the neck with her scythe blade, runs up the side of a cliff while firing her gun to increase her speed, and then decapitates it when she gets to the top, so maybe having her run up the side of the screen would have been an improvement.

KigaiOkasu It is a reference from the Nevermore fights, but on the show, she finishes it with the help of Weiss acceleration and gravity glyphs, and then there she drags the Grimm through the cliff, which shows how heavy the Nevermore is. That was really spectacular and more satisfying than just flying on open-space. Maybe next time they should add more flair to it and use some camera tricks to make it more dramatic and less static.

Literally the only thing they had to do was include clouds in the Astral finish. Not only will it give make her seem like she's higher in the air than the other rwby characters Astral, but it will also flow with moon in the backround. Make the clouds rapidly move in a diagonal angle, that contrast will give a much larger feel for her moving fast but still allowing her to retain her center position. Perhaps even cut the clouds out right as the camera zooms in for ruby's final strike

The biggest issue is that Rachel's astral had the best buildup of them all, but in the end was just the same as her regular super. That's what brings its score down

Ruby's could've been better. One idea is her finisher in the Vol 4 trailer. Using her scythe to knock the enemy off their feet, them sped around them to lift them in the air. Then appear above them and change the blade position and impale them to the ground, then have ruby fire one of her dust rounds.

When Chie sends the dude flying, it's worth noting that it starts raining immediately after, meaning she kicked him so hard, that just the pressure from the kick was so intense that it changed the weather. I think that implies that Chie is, quite possibly, as physically strong as All Might.

just don't do what i did and try to play it like P4A. like i'm used to having his persona attack come out right in front of him near instantly, but if you use the heavy attack, which is mapped to the same button as the light persona attack in P4A, it does his heavy persona attack, which has a second of start up, so i manage to catch a hit, try to do a P4A combo from muscle memory and the second of start up makes me drop it.

So Ruby's Astral is from Volume 1 Chapter 8, specifically the part where she decapitates the Giant Nevermore And Weiss's Astral is her finishing move from the White Trailer, in addition to summoning the Knight's Sword as a nod to the summoning aspect of her Semblance revealed in Volume 3 Gotta love how faithful they're being to RWBY, and I can only imagine what the Astrals for Blake & Yang are gonna look like

I say it would be best to do Infinite World since it has almost every super from Budokai 3 besides Special Beam Cannon, Final Flash, and Warp Kamehameha and Kid Goku's Dragon Fist. It adds some great new supers like GT Goku's Super Kamehameha, Super 17's Shocking Death Ball, and Janemba's ultimate move.

Zack Rose your also forgetting that most of these animations were already made. Blazblue isn't exactly a new series and they keep their Astrals the same throughout the years (for some characters, decade) and because of this, some Astrals aged badly. Pretty sure persona had these special moves too, so they're old as well. Under night rebirth I'm not too sure on but the only real new ones are ruby characters and a few newer characters from the blazblue roster

Re-using the same Astral Finishers for almost a decade is absolutely nothing to brag about, it only tells you that they are too lazy to come up with new ones, even more so when they don't even update said finishers to have more detail, camera work, effects and so on and forth. I like BB but it's clear as day to anyone paying attention that GG is Arcs favorite child and who they give all the new toys while BB just sits there playing on their broken decade old toy car. Personally, if they are going to continue to be lazy with BB, they should just take the fan favorite characters in BB, put them in GG and just kill BB. No point in having two different franchises if you are going to massively neglect one of them.

Don't know if you've ever played them, but all the playable characters in the Super Robot Wars games have super moves like these (special graphics, custom music, etc.) and it might be fun to watch the YoVideogames! crew react to some of those.

Yes and the game is releasing at a slightly lower price than most fighting games (It's $50 for the base game and $20 for the dlc. 2 of which will be free dlc).

That still over full price, and these characters should still be on the base roster considering they were working on them since the final roster was revealed in around January, with 3 packs released so far. And Blake and Yang being free doesn't justify them not being on the base roster since Blake is done and Yang should be done by the end of the month. There's no excuse for need to download content that was finished long before the game came out, especially with a price on it regardless of what that price is.

Because this is BASE ROSTER content that's being held back to sell as DLC and shouldn't even have a price on it at all. You're not getting a full game + DLC. You're getting half a game + stuff that should be in the game from the beginning.

I’ve only seen Under Birth In-Night during the one Fisticuffs the BestFriends did way back when and only marginal know a couple Blazblub Astral Finishers, but gotta say Persona’s Ultimates might be the most underwhelming across the board aside from Shadow Labrys I guess.
