after listening to this several times, i think i finally have something of a critical look at this: i'll start off by saying that the combination of the intros feels like it works incredibly well. that the light jazz piano just drops into the hard rock feels very much like a hazama thing to do; catch your enemies off-guard, then hit them with all you've got. it also benefits from sounding fucking awesome. one thing i'm disliking is how different the guitars in ii sound compared to the first. i recognize that you really can't do much about that, but the constant switching back and forth between i and ii's guitars can throw me off a little. my own thoughts here, but if i could get a version of gluttony fang ii's piano with gluttony fang i-style guitars, i'd be happy however, guitars aside, the piano mixing feels good to me; it's just the right bars in the right places, for the betterment of the song. i don't want to dig on the solo bits because again, there's only so much one can do when cutting and pasting, to crudely simplify the mixing process, but they're in there, which is neat. special shout out to the 2:35- 2:41 mark. that may be my favorite six seconds of the song right there due to the utter ruthlessness of the guitars under the manic piano. i'm having a little trouble telling what parts are mixed from what song there, but i'm still certain that it is. all the "vocal" clips (the "aaaaaah!" backing synths, really) feel dropped in in just the right places. they gave the original song a fanfare-esque feel that i feel that ii is lacking; like an entire crown cheering on or getting riled up for any fight with the intelligence captain. in a meta-sense, it seems appropriate; i think we all know just how absolutely popular hazama is with the fanbase (excluding a few outliers) the addition of i's intro into the song at the 3:40 mark always bothered me, and then didn't, and as i'm writing this, it hit me; again, it's a very hazama thing to do. the song is rolling along like the pain train should, then stop abruptly. wouldn't our fedora-wearing freak do just exactly that, and change direction at the drop of a hat (pun intended) just to get the drop on his enemies? ABSOLUTELY. even if i'm not a fan of either song's solos (i always felt that the piano should just fill the lead guitar's role), the one immediately following the intro feels like it's desperate enough for the tone of the song. last but not least, the combination and version-switching at the end of the song feels good. boastful, subversive, and crazy enough to really hit the feel of who it represents. if anything, it feels it can drag on a bit, but seeing as gluttony fang clocks in at four minutes and twenty-eight seconds, and gluttony fang ii sits just two seconds shorter than that, it's bound to feel like it just keeps going, being almost a full minute longer. regardless, this version feels damn good and it's plenty fun to headbang to.

Thanks for taking the time to write this analysis. It's really helpful. I will probably go back and redo these someday and your advice was pretty spot on. I realize there are a lot of flaws with these BB songs. Just looking at how many tracks and cuts are used on this project compared to a recent one is crazy. I want to know what these songs would sound like if they were made knowing what I know now. In terms of this song itself, I agree with pretty much everything you said and I'm glad you were able to pick on the fact that I was trying to make the song's sound emulate the character. I do agree that the 1 and 2 versions on most of these songs have a different sound, a different "weight" to them that makes transitions jarring, but I'll try to fix that in a future version if possible. I wanted to make sure the song had a good amount from both even if it was hard to make them mesh well together. I also kind of agree that it drags on a bit, but I really like both solos and wanted to put them both in. I sometimes even like songs that go on for a while but keep throwing new things at you. It feels like a battle, almost like, "Isn't this guy done yet?!" Good review. I'll keep these things in mind.
