DBV2 has a nice intake, unfortunately an open intake without a heat shield is going to pull in air from the engine compartment, and it takes more power from the turbo to compress less dense air. The differences you're measuring are likely predominantly from temperature differences of the pre-turbo intake air.

The baseline for all intake testing should be no intake/chicken wire over the turbo inlet. That's the least amount of restriction. Then anything else will start to restrict from stock at the most to something aftermarket like the Blaze at the least. The turbine speed...is it modelled or does it have a sensor measuring it?

That would be risky but would be great in a controlled environment. This wasn’t professional by any means, just some fun experimenting! We do have shaft speed sensors on the turbo with the gen 4 😄

@@TheShameous DBV2 and IE V2 are a couple I know of that have a bell mouth transition from the filter to the inlet pipe. The bell mouth is more important in the case where there isn't a filter on the inlet pipe.

Curious, neither the EQT store or the Blaze website have this intake for the 8Y/Mk8. Do you have the only one that fits an 8Y or did they provide you with the 8V version? I’m asking because I want to buy one for my mk8R and I’m wondering if what you have will fit mine. Please help.

It’s not available to the public, older generations will not fit. They should be available soon! I managed to weasel my way into a pre production unit 😄
