若者たちの夢と情熱に焦点を当てたイニD。 情緒と人間性を巧みに描いた湾岸。 それぞれに素晴らしい魅力がある。幼い頃はイニDの派手なドリフト走行やユーロビートに胸を躍らせたし、ある程度社会のことが解ってきてからは、湾岸の台詞回しや人間くさいキャラクターたちの内面的な葛藤に感情を揺さぶられたりもした。 そして、ふたつの作品には決して忘れてはいけない共通点がある。 どちらも下唇がすごく分厚い。

Anime is based on the reality - Mid Night club. They were racing on Wangan and had some rules, one of them - not to harm anyone by their actions. If you looked like you don't care about other racers or traffic, you're out. The reason of the disband of club was car crash - they raced a drunk Bosodzoku and he crashed.

Asian Caillou the real midnight club was a HUGE inspiration. If you don’t have a heavily modded/tuned car that you can controllably drive at 180 mph, you couldn’t even be considered. That and the big respect they had for the love of cars as to not be a jackass and endanger others simply for the sake of the adrenaline rush of racing.

@@coel3572 Don't get it twisted. We all have a lot of respect for Mid Night Club. Here in the USA if someone is driving recklessly we flame and even get rid of them. That's why we shoot for empty roads, remote areas, and don't weave in and out of traffic. There's no fun in putting others in danger unless you're a complete idiot.

For the tuners out there that may not know. The EVO having a 35:65 split seems super off if you know the new EVO's and their front bias only design., but the older ones (1-6) were able to be made rear bias with a center diff swap from companies like cusco.

new evo's are defiantly not fwd bias or rwd bias starts out 50:50 and the computers can send more torque bias to the front or the rear. You wouldn't be able to throttle oversteer so easily if it was sending most of the torque to the front.

Evo 7 to 9 had 30:70 split. I own an LAN Evo VIII. When changing from Gravel Mode to Tarmac. You can Set the split to 50:50 or 30:70. You can feel this easy when sliding in Rain or drifting in snow.

I love that the two main cars are classics in Wangan Midnight. My old boss at work has a black Porsche 911 Turbo like that, 630whp track ready.

In this case, nitrous would be more realistic. A different map for this car would probably just be higher boost settings(aka scramble boost). On some dry nitrous setups it actually activates a different map that pulls timing and adds fuel to compensate for nitrous(it'll work on a wet setup too but you wouldn't need the ECU to add extra fuel). As much as FF completely embellished nitrous and how it works, it's probably the best quick power boost.

@@knieban Nitrous is just laughing gas that makes cheap power, once its used up, your gonna have to refill it every time, compare to the ECU where it stays with the car without running out Car upgrades in FnF are a joke except todays cars they used XD

@@hybridAbsol That's true the Nitro idea of F&F its dumb for street cars its only good for Dragsters the ECU map setting and Scramble boost and the Turbo electronic controlled (like the one in Kei's Supra ) are much efficient than a bottle of nitrous not mention those options are saffer the nitro explodes

​@@youngkazu78最近のスバルは45:65(4代目レガシィD型AT(VTD仕様)(MTは変更無し)以降だったかな?)。 安定性向上と4代目以降VDC(ESP)が標準装備(追加補強等も有り)になったので扱い易い仕様に変更している。

@@nikhilsharma3563 Thou I am not sure whether the name originally derived from military aviation terminology or not, the gist of it is enabling the electronics monitoring devices on tricking the ECU to turn a blind eye on overboost readings just to push the forced induction above the engine's capable limit for a set amount of time, along with automated cut-off between intervals. Sort of like a overboost fuction you find in some factory production cars nowadays, like the Hyundai N cars and Focus RS. It might sound like it's not a big deal nowadays but this function is pretty significant in the mid to late 90's when this degree of electronics control was first accessible to the public . Unlike now where tuners have full control over every single aspect of electronics readings/ signals from a single standalone ECU, Tuners back then had to rely on separate electronic monitoring devices ( for example a Fuel computer for injector timings, a boost controller that hooks up to your turbine actuator, be it electronically or pneumatic, a ignition computer for ignition timing, a control unit for all the data feedbacks from the ECU and monitoring gauges ...etc) so it's essentially a galactic balancing act between multiple devices based off inconsistent readings just to get a stable map. Now factor in the narrow error margin restricted by the materials engineering standards at that time, it requires every component of that car to work perfectly in harmony just to pull something off like that. That's why it's so significant in this scene. Now the intent of this and Kuroki's FLAT Racing's arc is to highlight the transition between pure mechanical tuning and the inevitable advent of digital data based tuning which focusses on efficiency, the smaller displacements platforms may lack in pure output volume, but they triumph by being able to replicate, if not surpass the former with new technologies like better flowing heads, the ability to switch between cam profiles, minimal efficiency loss by top notch boost control solutions, weight difference by different manufacturing and materials technology, variable torque vectoring by form of AYC and Attesa E-TS to capitalize on maximum traction. Execution-wise, spring operated wastegates were not in trend during the turn of the century as depicted in Wangan Midnight so tuning houses during that era were pumping out enlarged (but still within the confines of a midsize turbine) turbine completed with their own uprated internal wastegate/actuator and the boost controller as a package, and most turbocharged JDM cars of that era comes with an internal wastegate so one of the first mod ppl would do would be the boost controller, they hook the boost controller up and delay the wastegate open intervals as an indirect way to boost up their car, in other words, the less boost you dump from the wastegate, the more boost you retain within the system. Still, this is not recommended, the ECU will be struggling to react of the abnormal data from the changes without a proper piggyback tune.

I am making my own characters based on Eiji Kamiya and his Lan Evo V. Eiji Kamiya easily be my top favourite characters (with Kyoichi Sudo and his Evo III), basically because of his personality and likeable he is, the Osaka Accent also what make him stand out for me, simple man but that's what i like. Of course that Lan Evo V too. The fact Eiji tune his own Evo is impressive and proved that his skills and his Lan Evo can be matching with Kitami Tuned Devil.

It won't happen though because the nature of Genki. I'm perfectly fine with the Bandco Maci Tune except the Graphics are over 10 years behind and the physics suck. They should get the physics from Shutoku Zero One. They have no excuse for Graphics as Maxi Tune 6 is still worse than Extreme Stage.

Still pointless though. That signal only comes on for about a second, not giving the other drivers on the road ample time to react. By the time that driver notices, that driver's already overtaken and behind by 100m.

Actually in the manga and game counterpart, Ohta drives his FD because of the R33 crashed thanks to Yamanaka's careless during the battle against Blackbird which he crashed at the place where there is a junction it heads toward Yaesu and the tunnel which head towards Ginza

I always loved this ep. I am a huge fan of evos, especially evo 5-6's and I deff. respect Z's and 911s. I forgot but I think they are all 5 speed manuals, though maybe the 911 is 6 spd...I forget what those 80s years were, but from a tunning aspect, its interesting that this show is about top speed with the tunning dynamics of how to make a car go above 200 mph (miles per hour). The evo changed his final 5th gear to a longer gear for better top speed, which seemed to somewhat work. I think He just did not have the guts to keep going...I mean I dont blame him its over 200 mph. I did 165 in my supercharged s2000 and I was scared, and that was only for 20-30 seconds. I do think the z and porche having 6 cylinders would with more horsepower and torq. Would still have more power to accelarate against the increased drag (Air) pushing back on the cars, there for making it still a losing battle for the evo...one step on the gas further and the z and the 911 could accelerate faster against the drag (air)...and there vehicles seem (and I think in real life) have a better drag coefficient than the EVO. We also have to take account that the older Z had one of best chasis jobs done to it, as well as other cars in the series...alot of factors play into top speed, especially down force. Edit - Also he stated, which I forgot, was the longer wheel base of the Z atleast and maybe the porche? have to look that up. Its also interesting that he state at 100mph is normal cruise for the z and 911...at 150 he states that they let off the throttle just a little and switch lanes, then get back on the gas. The cars stay very stable, in which, most unmodified cars would not....Those 2 guys tunning the cars know what the hell they are during from the matching of the tires to engine. Notice they are both 6 cylinders as well making it easier to produce the same or more power than the smaller motors. Also not stressing the motor as much. This anime is so damn interesting and teaches alot.

This clip is the "race highlight" which cuts out some dialogs. In the full anime Eiji said he felt the engine would blow if he used the whole ten seconds of instant boost and he didn't want to reck the engine so..

Youre talking about drag ans downforce. The evo wins on both on those. Its just a mismatch in hp.

The final drive upgrade in the evo doesnt only make 5th gear longer it makes all gears longer 1-5. You get slower initial acceleration but higher top speed. Ive had my evo x up to 150mph for a about 6-7mins and it is very planted and stable, another 50mph though is a different story, probably would need a flat underbody and rear diffuser

@@imcappuccino He came to the realisation that being a pro racer meant testing and breaking things over and over again to make them better, and he did not have the heart to break the engine that Rikako re-built and tuned for him. So he backed down and went back to Osaka

ohh i love that last stretch with the black bird running away from the devil Z. The Naniwa saga is my preferred mini saga on this series,because the focus is on the 911 and Shima. perfect soundtrack and perfect atmosphere for the Wangan black Emperor!! long live THE BLACK BIRD!

One of the weakness of 911 Turbo (964) is the weight balance. The engine placement put so much weight into the back part of the car. If the car goes too fast, would result of front tires loses its grip cuz the front part would float all the time (CMIIW)

It's what happened to Shima in the last race. He overdid the weight reduction which resulted in the car feeling like a feather in the wind and he gave up as a result
