Your reviews make me buy the Kamado jajaja got it in a good price. Is really a nice Kamado I am so use to pellet grill let see how this work. Btw I found few adapters for Blaze that allow you to use a fan for smoke and yes I Iive in Florida as well and weather has been crazy hot

Hi Matthew, I read a negative review on Amazon for charcoal basket and moisture pan. Pan looks like two pieces welded together. I am worried about whether it will eventually leak. Shape is so unique that it is impossible to find unless I go with smaller diameter circular pan. Overall I am hesitant to purchase this for $170+tax. I am looking for cheaper alternatives. But again, the charcoal basket has unique form factor. Hard to find. I'm thinking of using two small side charcoal baskets from weber kettle and use small pan at the center. I don't know if it everything aligns well, assuming Rotisserie sits right in the middle. Please let me know what you think and what's your experience using this so far.

@@littlestar5737My assessment is at this point. So far so good. I haven't had any issues with the pan leaking. It's welded very well and machined very well out of very heavy, thick stainless steel. I haven't have any issues with it leaking. There are two charcoal baskets. There's a quick starter one that I have but there's another charcoal basket that doesn't have the bottom section. I would probably recommend getting that if you consider it. It is less expensive. But what you're talking about when having the two charcoal baskets should work provided that it all fits. I will check the fit and finish again.

Did your rotisserie spit rod come with heat shrink tubing attached at both ends? Mine did and I cannot install the rod inside motor. Should I remove peel off tubing. It looks like it is meant to be there.

@@littlestar5737 it should just fit in smoothly. I don't recall a heat sink. Send me a picture? You should probably remove it.

I have been considering this kamado for my next grill. How much did you score it for? BBQguys has it listed for $1800.

I purchased from them with $100 less so the $1,600

That price sounds about right. But during I purchased the during the days leading up Memorial Day. Many resellers were running specials. I copped for around $1600 usd from Backyard Oasis. BBQ Guys also had "warehouse" deals on it for around the say price. Honestly, considering the price of most of the more well-known upper tier kamado's, it fell in line. Lastly, some places like Amazon, backyard oasis, and barbecue guys will allow you to use Afterpay or Affirm.

Funny you mention how hard is to find accessories I am going through the same problem I been trying to find stuff for it without luck

There's stuff out there, but you will have to look. Once you find something, I have learned to reach out to the vendor's customer support chat or help line to ensure they have the product. BBQ guys, Kick Ass grills, and Backyard Oasis are my current leaders in the club house. They have been the most reliable.
