Holy Christ I wasn’t expecting this. I’ve been watching him since Guerrilla Bars early 2020 and this is one of the most impressive things I’ve seen him do. His choice of beats are a perfect blend of hip hop nostalgia with a few modern elements. In the 80’s and 90’s we had solid samples from R&B, Funk, and Soul. That may have shaped my opinion to lean towards those types of beats and it’s obvious it influenced Harry too. He seems to appreciate a solid groove (most drummers do). That hasn’t been in fashion for a while now. However, the auto tuned mumble rap will run its course eventually. When Harry reaches the status he deserves, I think his choice of beats will influence the young people that were never introduced to these types of tracks.
