Sorry I wasn't there live, it was Euro 24 final with England v Spain. Another great stream. My method of communicating about Siege. I placed 2 defence teams in. One in the Stronghold and 1 in the Mana tower. I went to Discord and said in a DM to the deputy. these are my teams. If you want them somewhere else, let me know by DM and I will place them elsewhere. If I don't hear anything, I guess you'll want them where I put them. No one is excited about this in @Colred's clan cluster [CPR]. I'm in the top clan (Red Wardens) with Colred and he's just had a new baby a couple months ago, so wants to play, has no time. If all I have to do is set a couple of defences every other week and hit a couple defences my leadership want me to hit, probably the Stronghold itself as I have a very nasty Narses/Ankora duo team, then it's no skin off my nose. The rewards suck, and the champ will take a year or two to get, so I'll not be spending any time or effort. Just point me where you want me to set a defence or smack a target best suited to my particular team comp and I'll go do it then forget it again for another 2 weeks. I'll know when it's over because there will be a red dot as usual and I'll either clear it because we lost or claim a reward if we win, but I couldn't give a flying f**k about this game mode. Arena in fancy clothes is still arena.... Paylarium Management, How should we set up Clan Wars? Paylarium Dev, Arena! Management, We've done that 3 times now, there must be something else we can do. Dev, We could make it have tiers like CvC. We've already done that too, 3x3 is tier based. Perhaps we can do something else, something new. Dev, Ok, I've got a totally new idea for you. Management, Go on, I'm listening. Dev, We can do a castle, we can call it Stronghold, and have posts guarding it where you have to pick a path to get to it. Each post has restrictions like Banner Lord faction only, or HP champs only and is guarded by 4 champs. You set 2 defences and you attack your opponent's Stronghold area 2x. Each win gives you points and when you earn enough points you go up a level. Management, So, what you are saying is... It's almost 3x3 arena but with 2 defences instead of 1 and only 2 fights instead of 3 that takes place in Santranos, or an arena version of Santranos, and you go up tiers like CvC? Dev, Exactly! A completely new idea. Management, It's not new, it's just a mashup of what we already have. I wanted some blue sky thinking, and you gave me muddy water instead. Dev, No wait, here's the new part and I know you'll like it. We do it every other week and start it the week after the next CvC because the player base are screaming out for more to do in the game as they all have so much time on their hands every day. We give them a champ to go for that will take at least a year to get and give up to 4 accessories for participating and a chest with more personal prizes for winning with up to 3 primal shards, and a new gear set that has full immunity to sheep. Management, So you want to introduce a game mode that lasts 2 weeks, that needs a vast amount of organising with no usable communication mode to do that with. A worldwide 1 server system that has members not even speaking the same language in many cases within clans, and you want to use the worst elements of 3 different game modes, smash them together and dump it on them without too much info. Dangle a Maud type carrot champ for them to chase that will probably be of no value to them when they finally get it. You are right! I do love it. Now change the rewards from 3 primal shards to 3 quartz. Make the set only 50% immunity to sheep, and design it so it's possible that no one wins and throw it out there. Well done, I think you might just be management material.
